I need your help ;)
I´m trying to collect info and pictures of Pilar, princess of Bavaria. It´s a strange thing...her paternal grandmother was infanta Amalia del Pilar of Spain, her maternal grandmother was queen Isabel II of Spain, she was madly in love with her cousin king Alfonso XIII; she was a princess of Bavaria, but closely connected to the spanish royal dinasty; but I don´t know how she was, what kind of life she lived. And I have seen just two or three pictures of Pilar...

She was the daughter of Ludwig Ferdinand of Bavaria (a doctor of medicine) and AXIII's aunt Paz. "They established the so-called Spanish branch of the Bavarian royal family, started with Ludwig Ferdinand's parents' marriage but strengthened by successive Spanish marriages in altogether three generations." Pilar never married but her brother Ferdinand married AXIII's sister Maria Theresa and lived most of his life in Spain. She was quite a good artist whose works sold well. She wrote a biography, Ever Inch a King, about her cousin AXIII. For almost forty years she was the head of the Bavarian Red Cross.

She looked like her father at a young age, but grew to resemble her mother Infanta Paz.

From time to time, paintings from Royals do surface.  I think this painting is quite lovely.  It is very modern with bold colors and brushstrokes.

Can you post the last ones again, it indicates that they were deleted. About Pilar, she was very elegant, exactly not a great
beauty, but she has a special charming. Thanks for the photos ;-)
