Title: Prince Carl Philip
Post by: Lucien on January 18, 2007, 04:29:42 PM
Earlyer this week Prince Carl Philip was held by US immigration as he didn't have a valid working permit in his passport upon arrival in Miami from Venezuela, reason for the Immigration officers to refuse him entree ..(overzealous twits)....
The Prince couldn't prove on the spot that he actually works in that country,so the Swedish embassy had to intervene, and with considerate delay he could travel on to Washington DC.Prince Carl Philip works as an assistant of photographer Mattias Klum in DC.

I thought it's gonna be a Happily-ever-after story.
I feel sad. They're a very likely match.

I heard a few weeks ago that Prince Carl Philip is getting married in June next year. Is it true? If so, I am surprised that it has not been mentioned here.

Cheers,

Sofia Hellqvist has flared up the feathers of Carl Philip's fans. It's because of her past. Oh well, the fans want someone better for their prince who they themselves hoped-for to marry. Sofia is lucky. She got him. Sorry to the fans. But I understand his fans' hurt feelings... marriage of their prince means no dot of hope left for them anymore (and I felt that feeling twice!)

After the latest revelations about the coming groom's father pecadillos, jaded Swedes are gossiping whether this out-and-about babe might already have slept with her future father-in-law! Also note that she looks just like a younger version of the prince's mother, who he once hailed as the woman he admired the most in the world. She certainly doesn't approve of his choice, but must keep her mouth shut, something which she is rather good at, denying her father's Nazi past for so many years.

BTW the most noble thing that can be said about the princess-to-be is that she hails from a remote valley, Älvdalen, famous for its porhyry rock. According to Wikipedia "the town is widely known for being the place of manufacturing, in 1839, of the 4-meter granite vase (called Älvdalen Vase), installed in the Summer Garden in Saint Petersburg (a gift from Charles XIV John of Sweden to Nicholas I of Russia)."

Perhaps älvdalsvas will be the new euphemism for a recipient of fluids with diluted Vasa DNA...........

WARNING - not quite your regular Romanov photos: Links to nudie pics of a future Princess of Sweden: https://www.flashback.org/sp51733131 (https://www.flashback.org/sp51733131)
Swedes are eagerly discussing what the tattoo on her bum says: Miguel or something in Arabic?

16 year old her parents sent her to Thailand to be photographed in the nude by some racy photographer.

Those pics do have a certain "ætheral" quality, like true Romanov pics! See https://www.flashback.org/sp51777906 (https://www.flashback.org/sp51777906) Though her future mother-in-law, in her quest to protect children from all evils, would perhaps classify it as "child porn"!

Poor lady! Is that Thailand story real? Poor her if it is!
Imo, Queen Silvia doesn't look like Sofia even a bit. Her Majesty's very beautiful back in the days she was same age as Sofia...and still very beautiful now.
Oh the press and public, why won't they "keep the dead buried"? I mean Sofia has moved away from that past already. Anyway, she did it before without knowing she would become Carl Philip's wife in the future. Good if she still is a model like that until now, but she isn't anymore..Are the people and press just bored??

Apparantly it is. I wonder how trashy her parents are.

Of course boredom, jealousy, meanness, snobbery etc. are part of the equation. But let's not forget that Sweden is one of the most feminist countries in the world, both in theory and practice. That a woman uses her body and sugar daddies* to work her way up right into the royal family must be condemned by all feminists.

* Allegedly her "studies" and yoga work in New York were founded by different sugar daddies.

Wouldn't it be great if that vase could be featured in her arms now that the Court has announced she will become Duchess of Värmland upon marriage? (Note Värmland  / Wermelandia, not Warmia / Ermland in Poland!)

They'll never let go of the scandal because that is the nature of the press. Prince Carl Philip and Sofia, the future princess, will be married in June and I'll bet they'll be bringing it up then too. Because they supposedly sell.

People are still going on and on about the princesses Victoria and Madeline hating Sofia. Who knows what the real truth is with all the embellishments out there.

The question is, is it really a scandal if it's all out in the open to begin with? Just like Mette-Marit of Norway, Sofia will start her life as a royal at the bottom, as something the dog dragged in. It can actually only get better from there. Sweden is also an incredibly politically correct country, in many ways as hysterical as the USA, but without very diverging opinions. Feminism is the default ideology in Sweden and it will be interesting to see if Sweden's PC feminists will be tempted to declare Sofia a victim of evil, sexist patriarchy or a disgrace to all independent, liberated women, considering that she has no higher education and has lived off rich men her whole life.

Принц Карл-Филипп и принцесса София на благотворительном гала-ужине.
Вечером 29 августа принц Карл-Филипп и принцесса София присутствовали в Эрншельдсвике ( Швеция) на благотворительном гала-ужине в поддержку фонда Project Playground.

Prince Carl-Philipp and Princess Sofia at charity gala dinner.
In the evening of the 29th of August Prince Carl-Philipp and Princess Sofia attended in Örnsköldsvik (Sweden) a charity gala dinner in support of the Project Playground Foundation.
See http://ru-royalty.livejournal.com/3317442.html (http://ru-royalty.livejournal.com/3317442.html)

With Project Playground being the children's charity set up in order to lend an aura of purpose and respectability to Princess Sofia's existence, this type of charity dinner in its honour certainly gives the Swedish monarchy a new aura of the worst aspects of New World and ancien-régime hypocrisy. Nouveaux-riches donating to a private vanity charity to spend an evening dining with the reality star turned princess. The indignity - in what was once the world's leading social democracy! Quomodo cecidisti de cælo, stella polaris....

Something about the reality star princess just struck me: Reality TV bores me so much I can't bear to watch it, precisely for the reason Sofia is perfect as a member of an institution as neutral as the monarchy: Except for some superfiscially outrageous antics related to nudity and sex, there is nothing controversial about reality TV shows like "Paradise Hotel". No fierce ideological rants against Marxism, racism, capitalism, feminism, immigration, patriarchy etc. It's just plain humanoid apes being apes. People can't be controversial and thus not really interesting on a deeper level if they don't even know who Nicholas II and Lenin were, but just strip and f*ck instead!

The name is Alexander Erik Hubertus Bertil.

Alexander is not a traditional upper-class let alone royal name in Sweden, rather it has some white trash connotations (like so many other typically Scottish names made famous in Scandinavia by Hollywood: Kenneth, Kenny, Kevin, Roy, Glen etc.) It was thus the expected choice from the prince's reality TV starlet mother, who, for all we know, may have chosen it because of some sentimental souvenir from a fling with an Alexander, like Paradise Hotel moderator Alex(ander) Schulman.

NB it should be noted that in Finland, also among the Swedophones, Aleksander is a much more accepted name in all layers of society, because of the Russian era. Example: Current Finnish minister of foreign affairs Aleksander Stubb. For the same reason Alexander also has a somewhat Russian connotation in Sweden.

PC-obsessed Swedes (and there is a lot of them!) are barking about the prince being named after the King's (Carl Gustaf Folke Hubertus's) Nazi uncle, Prince Hubertus of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, a soldier who was killed in action in Ukraina in 1943. Probably they haven't bothered to force their stupid little PC brains around the fact that he also was gay.

Many had expected the prince to be made Duke of Dalarna, his mother's native province, something which the Dalecarliens apparantly also wished. But he was not. Maybe because it was too un-Swedish to have the Duke's grandparents live in his duchy as some sort of semi-nobility, but more likely he was made Duke of Södermanland because he is to inherit the lease of Stenhammer castle and estate in Södermanland, left to a male Bernadotte, with preference for a Duke of Södermanland for 1000 Swedish crowns annually by a childless marshall of the court, Baron Robert von Kræmer, in 1903. It was quite a sum in 1903, but a bargain today. Untill his death in 1965 Prince Wilhelm, Duke of Södermanland, was the beneficiary of this lease.

As far as I can see there has only been one (semi-)Swedish royal called Alexander earlier: 17th-century Prince Alexander Karol Vasa, son of King Sigismund Vasa of Poland and Sweden.

Relationship to ancestors of Prince Alexander, Duke of Södermanland, with the name Alexander:
1. Prince ALEXANDER of Sweden
2. Prince Carl Philip of Sweden
3. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden
2. Prince Gustaf Adolf
4. King Gustaf VI Adolf of Sweden
5. King Gustav V of Sweden
6. King Oscar II of Sweden
7. Josephine of Leuchtenberg, Queen of Sweden
8. Eugène de Beauharnais, Duke of Leuchtenberg
9. Vicomte ALEXANDRE de Beauharnais

1. Prince ALEXANDER of Sweden
2. Prince Carl-Philip of Sweden
3. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden
4. Prince Gustaf Adolf of Sweden
5. Victoria of Baden, Queen of Sweden
6. Louise of Prussia, Grand Duchess of Baden
7. Augusta of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, German Empress
8. Grand-Duchess Marie Pavlovna of Russia, Grand Duchess of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach (sister of Emperor Alexander I and mother of Grand Duke Carl Alexander)
9. Paul I, Emperor of Russia
10. Peter III of Holstein-Gottorp, Emperor of Russia
11. Grand Duchess Anna Petrovna, Duchess of Holstein-Gottorp
12. Peter the Great, Emperor of Russia
13. Alexis I , Tsar of Russia
14. Michael I, Tsar de Russia
15. Fyodor Nikitich Romanov, Patriarch Philaret of Moscow
16. Princess Evdokiya Alexandrovna Gorbataya-Shuyskaya
17. Prince ALEXANDER Borisovich Gorbatiy-Shuyskiy, died in 1565, famous general of Ivan the Terrible, conqueror of Kazan.

The Princes Gorbatiy-Shuyskiy are descended from Andrey Yaroslavich, Grand Prince of Vladimir and Prince of Suzdal, brother of ALEXANDER nicknamed Nevsky, who defeated the Swedes on the banks of the Neva. It is possible that they and the Romanov also were descended from one of Alexander Nevsky's sons, but I can not find the link.

Their second son, Prince Gabriel Carl Walther, Duke of Dalarna, is named after his Nazi great grandfather (Carl August) Walther Sommerlath.
