Title: Pytanie do Polaków - Question for Poles
Post by: Превед on October 20, 2014, 02:55:53 PM
Do you know any good Polish-language royalty blogs? (Preferably not just focusing on the Romanovs, but reigning royal families.)

Dziękuję bardzo!

There was a Polish girl who used to work at the Chapters I frequent, but I haven't seen her in a while.

BTW, speaking of "Polish royals", I found these contrasting parallell uses of them for promoting cities amusing:

Utica Observer-Dispatch: 'Polish princess' abdicates Utica, mansion 'completely gutted' (http://www.uticaod.com/article/20111008/News/310089974)
vs.

I 've been in that Utica and live about an hour away. It's in the best interests of both the city and the "princess", more so the latter, that there be an abdication.Utica is a pit, corrupt and depressed and depressing. And that's a fact, Jack!

Oh, I almost get a fetishistic urge to go there, to see a totally depraved and decaying town, preferably in the midst of a colourful upstate New York fall.

It even says:

Monarchism in Poland is taboo for all media: government, opposition, church, dependent and independent. In this matter, there is absolute political consensus. Emerging are occasional mentions of the subject that are playful and irreverent, although there are texts disavowing like: "Her Majesty's Paedophiles*". Anything sensible about the monarchy in modern terms in the Polish press could not be found.

* Referring to reports about British pedophiles, like Jimmy Savile, receiving royal orders.
