Thank you for posting the three floorplans, Joanna.  They certainly help to put the palace layout in much clearer perspective.

BTW, the other day I happened upon your blog and decided to check it out.  Well, I became so engrossed in it that I completely lost track of the time and was surprised to look up at the clock to find that over an hour had passed.  The history and photos in it are fascinating - with much of it new - and it's easy to navigate.  I'll definitely go back to it.

Thank you very much Sanochka. I love to hear from others that they are interested in the extensive details of the palace.

I am hoping others will do the same for palaces, schlosses, mansions, etc whether in Russia, US, Europe. I want to know the details  of places - plans, photos, memoirs, diaries!

If you have any information or questions on the Winter Palace, it will be helpful. One has found a missed # on the floor plan of the 2nd floor and I am ever so grateful for their input.
