Title: IN SERVICE OF THE IMPERIAL HOUSE by H.G. Graf
Post by: Mark_Chicago on February 24, 2005, 08:04:32 AM
Has anyone heard of this book?  It's written by the Commander of the RUssian Navy and covers the years 1917-1941.  It is listed with a excerpt on the website of the Russian Imperila Union www.riuo.org/graf/excerpts.html

(The excerpt deals with Kirill Vladirovich and the funeral of Empress Maria.)

I have written to the contacts without any reply.  I have also contacted the contacts for the website and they tried to contact their contact but without any luck.

I wonder if anyone has seen this book and their impressions.  Thanks

Mark

Mark,

Brien Horan told me about this book - it was privately published - Graf was apparently an aide to Kirill.

Why privately? I bought it last week in usual bookstore.

686 pages, rare but bad quality illustrations, 1500 copies. Publisher's URL http://www.blitz.spb.ru

According to Brien, the original English edition was privately published.

5000 copies in Russian - complete text, 100 copies in English - short translation.

I bought Russian edition.
