hI, I just recognized the title of this thread as the last name of the author of a book on Ebay I just saw. I was thinking about getting it but it is in Russian and is not mostly photographs so I think I might pass. Looks interesting, though:

Did anyone ever get hold of a copy of this book "Nicholas II, His Reign, His Russia"? I have seen it listed in so many biographical indexes, and wondered if anyone could tell me what it was like. I have searched and found it available at eastview.com in Russian, but the title was always listed in indexes in English, and i was sure there had been an English translation..

The English language edition was published in 1977 in four volumes as: "The Last Tsar: Nicholas II, His Reign, His Russia. Gulf Breeze, Florida: Academic International Press, 1977.  It's invaluable in tracing political developments and it gives an interesting (very sympathetic) account of N's reign.
