« on: August 16, 2009, 09:14:27 PM »
To start hyping up the release of my 3D Alexander Park on www.romanovdynasty.com i've decided to release two drafts of Alexandra's Balcony from june before I finished off the texturing and modelling of the landscape.

I have recently finished both the interior and exterior of how the Chinese Theatre looked before it's destruction.

The image will be part of my website www.romanovdynasty.com which is in it's final stages of development, two main areas of the site will comprise of a 3d map of alexander park including detailed sections on the Arsenal, Chinese Theatre, Alexander Palace.etc & a section on the last tsar and his family (with new 3d illustrations of the entire family).

I apologize for the lack of updates, i've been focusing on developing a bulk of the website for the past few months and as such haven't had as much time to post online. But here are a few images of what the model looks like at the moment- the scenery/landscape is still incomplete but will be updated as soon as the Alexander Park buildings are complete.

The Alexander Palace / Alexander Palace Panorama
« on: February 13, 2008, 07:25:21 PM »
To start hyping up the Romanov Dynasty website heres a panorama of the Alexander Palace. It requires a 3d card as it has 'bloom' and 'sun burst' included within the exe.
To move the camera left/right; hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse.

Yeah, one of them is the bridge.
Tracy- here's photographs of the exact locations you spoke of-

They were about 5616 x 3744 each but I had to resize both down to about half the resolution, they are still quite large though and may take a few minutes to download depending on your d/l speed.

I'll also show my 3d models of these bridges soon, i'm currently making a 3d video going past the chinese theatre, to the bridges and then the alexander palace.

Hope you enjoy yourself at pushkin this summer Vassili_Vorontsoff, it'll be my 21st this coming summer so we'll both have something to celebrate, eh? I'm not sure whether i'll need any more photographs, i've already got about 150'000 photographs of pushkin from the past two years (of which i've only sorted half!) and i'm hoping to use the full features of my canon eos-1ds mkiii (and assistant) this year which will be literally an ultra-kill of any buildings around! Take what you can though, i'm always missing some obvious photographs of locations I take for granted!

Hi Tracy,
I've already extensively taken photographs of that particular bridge. It did take a while to determine which it was though! The condition of it is becoming quite rundown as with some of the other bridges in Alexander Park, theres a small hole opening in the middle of the bridge and some of the iron work is twisted/falling off. I'm spending a good while at pushkin, so if theres any more images you want feel free to request and i'll add them to my list.

Hello Vassili, thanks for your interest in my site- it's going ahead full speed now. I've got so much to add it's taken me around 3 weeks so far to get only half of the content in. I'll be returning to pushkin this year, so hopefully i'll manage to finish the rest of my 3d project of tsarskoye selo shortly after.

I'm not 100% sure whats happening with the chinese theatre right now, i'll be sure to check up on it soon.

Yes, it's most interesting how it retains the shape of a church.

That particular soviet style building in the background appears to be crumbling apart when you look closely, i've always seen as a monstrous monolith compared to the beautiful architecture surrounding it. Here's a few closer photographs of it-

The Alexander Palace / Re: New Movie of Alexandra's bedroom
« on: November 13, 2007, 03:03:24 PM »
This movie was on the market for a couple of years as a DVD boxset, it went out of publication and they've just recently re-released it but in a 2 volume set (equalling 6 movies I think). I saw the newly packaged ones for about 15 each at the Oxford Street, Central London HMV- the quality is alot better than shown in the videocap so it's probably worth buying or renting.

The Final Chapter / Re: Ipatiev house photos (interior & exterior)
« on: November 10, 2007, 11:07:58 AM »
Yeah, I built another version of the Ipatiev House which will be on my website, that particular Ipatiev House model has a few versions of the fences according to differant periods of the Romanov's imprisonment. Thanks for the heads up about that anyway dmitri!

Here's another old render of the exterior of the house, as with the other some of the geometry .etc is in-correct. Does anyone have any photographs of the piano, or know what model it was? I'm trying to get as much of the interior for the 3d model as authentic as possible.
