has someone heard about this book? Is it a new book?
I have found it by surprise on Amazon

here is the link

I would want to know if there are biographies of the GD individually (except for Anastasia of course)... I have never seen a book which woud have been titled "Olga Nicolaevna: the story of a short life" for instance or "Tatiana: the mysterious daughter of the last tsar"...Even the excellent book of Arturo beeche "the grand duchesses" doesn't give a lot of details on the GD individually...I know the poor young girls had short lifes.. but I think that with all the things we know about the IF, it would have been possible for a writer to publish books on each of them..

The Final Chapter / GD's deaths.. who was who?
« on: June 11, 2005, 12:01:06 PM »

I have often read contradictions in the reports about the GD's end... It's said in a report that after the shot, two young girls were stood yet , putting their arms on their heads as if they wanted to protect them from bullets... who were they? Anastasia and Maria? Anastasia and olga? Tatiana and Olga?

It's also said that before the shot, Alexandra and one of her daughter made the sign of the cross...Was it Olga?

Other reports say that after the shot, the only surviving girl was Anastasia.. it seems that she was laid   on the floor, crying.. and that she was killed by the guards 's bayonets

In other reports, the only surviving girl was Maria

I know that no one knows exactly what happened... but I would only want to know what is the most probable in the lot of contradictions we read on this subject..what happened to the girls? we know for Nicholas, Alix, Alexei and their servants but Is it possible to know almost exactly what happened to Tatiana, Olga, maria, or Anastasia in their last moments?

Rasputin / Rasputin and Irina Yusupova
« on: February 24, 2005, 08:04:07 AM »

I've read in the Robert Massie's book that Felix Yussupov used the fact that Rasputin had never met the beautiful Irina to attract him in the cellar of the Moika palace. Felix said :"Rasputin had long wished to meet my wife. Believing her to be in St Petersburg, he accepted my invitation"

BUT I have seen in the book "royal Russia" a photo in which Irina appears with Anna vyrubova and... Rasputin..  ???  So, it seems obvious that Rasputin and Irina had already met before the night of the Rasputin's murder...

Do you think it's possible there was a secret bound between Rasputin and Irina? A bound that even Felix Yussupov didn't guess.... Did Irina was a Rasputin's supporter (or even more, who know)?

The Alexander Palace / Photos of the IF in the AP's formal rooms?
« on: February 17, 2005, 03:43:50 PM »
Hello  :D

I have never seen photos of the IF in the parade rooms (semi-circular hall, billard hall, portrait hall ect....) I have seen only the portrait of Alexandra feodorovna on which she stood behind the beautiful chairs and palms of the portrait hall...

Did someone know such photos or pictures of the IF? during a formal luncheon for example... the IF has done so much photos during its life in the AP that it seems to me that such photos should exist somewhere.. so if someone have them, I will be glad to see them   :)

Having Fun! / Where would you have lived?
« on: February 05, 2005, 12:26:22 PM »
hi,... ;)

I am interested to know :

If you have had the opportunity to rule Russia at the beginning of the 20th century, in which palace would you have lived? Would you have prefered to live in Moscow or St Petersurg? maybe some of you would have created a new capital in Livadia  ;D  ... of course, I know that most of you will reply "the Alexander Palace" So, If you consider that Nicholas, Alexandra and OTMA would have never existed, could you really choose the AP?

For my part, I would have prefer to live at St petersburg, in the catherine palace, this palace is so amazed, and I have always been fascinated by this big Building in white and blue... I think it's the most beautiful palace in Europe....

What about you?

The Alexander Palace / Where do the AP's descriptions come from?
« on: January 11, 2005, 06:34:34 PM »
Hi  and happy new year to everybody  :D

I am more and more interested by the AP's descriptions which can be read on this site  (Portrait Hall, mountain hall, new study ect...) could someone know where they come from? In which book can I find all these comments? I had thought of one of massie's books.. but I only know "Nicholas and Alexandra" from this author... maybe BoB Atchison can  tell me more about it... thanks in advance ;)
