If this has already been anounced on this page, please admins. delete!  Just wanted to alert people who may have wanted to obtain a copy that THE FOUR GRACES is available again!!  The differences are a few corrections, double the amount of photographs and slightly alrger print.

Thank you!!

I know this is really cheesey of me, but whatever!!!!  My website isn't really new, but I've been working on it with a friend for a couple of days, so I would really love it if people would visit.

As an extra added bonus, you can read the first chapter of my book The Royal Mob if you go there...

Thanks... it's still under development and I'm not a pro, so ... just click on and have forbearance!!!!!

Thanks.

It's www.queenvictoriasgranddaughters.com

News Links / The Four Graces: Queen Victoria's Hessian Granddaughters

Dear All,

As we eagerly await the publication of this book (at least I do), I have set up a web site.  It's www.queenvictoriasgranddaughters.com.  There's nothing much there except a nice photo I took at Wolfsgarten, but I'd appreciate you all watching the site as more will come and I will try to use this forum to announce whatever is in the future.  Meanwhile, would you do me a great favor and be kind enough to hit the site so that it can start coming up in the search engines.

I do so appreciate this, as I will very much hope that you will enjoy the book when it appears!

Romanov and Imperial Russia Links / New and Interesting Link
« on: January 21, 2007, 12:04:32 PM »
...and mods, if I'm posting this in the wrong place, forgive me and move it!!!

Janet Ashton has put a website of interesting articles, reprinted (with permission of course) from various sources.  It's called www.directarticle.org.  Two more author pages are now visible featuring Gretchen Haskin, Katrina Warne, and myself.

Janet wrote: "Each author has two articles up: Gretchen's is her oft-requested two-part article on the affair and death of Nicholas Yusupov and his brother's role in it all; Katrina's are one of her popular and practical "Royal traveller" articles and another more descriptive article about Romanov sites in the Urals, both reprinted by permission of their original publishers. Ilana introduces some U.S. history to the site, with her account of the 1860 visit of the Prince of Wales, and we have also posted her article on William Howard Russell, the celebrated journalist on whom Ilana has also written a book.

Additionally, there is a new article on an existing author page:
"Resurrection of an imperial jewel" by Greg King, which is about the architecture and history of the Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow.

I hope all visitors will enjoy reading these seven excellent new additions."

Go visit and let Janet know what you think!!!

Scandanavian Royal Families / Queen Louise of Sweden
« on: August 09, 2005, 03:35:26 PM »
I'm wondering if any of you who are deeply interested in Louise know the answer to this question.

I have come across in a letter that VMH and Onor discussed "the young Solms-Baruth" for Louise.  Would that have been Furst Friedrich???

Anyone know???

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna / Ella's Companion Varvara
« on: January 06, 2005, 04:29:24 PM »
I know I've asked this before, but we get different members everyday... what do people here know about Sister Barbara (Varvara), Ella's companion, who died with her and is buried with her.

Any thoughts about where some good research might be?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!!!

The Hesse-Darmstadts (Hesse and by Rhine) / Prince Ludwig & Margaret Geddes

Thomas, I didn't know her... however, from all accounts, she was very well-loved in the family.

Has anyone read this book?

It's a novel about the two Hessian sisters and their Russian marriages, and it's extremely anti-Hessian.  Lambton definitely had an axe to grind -- can't quite figure out if it was because he was related to a Naval figure in England who hated Prince Louis Battenberg, or because his Aunt was supposedly blinded for all the reading she did as lady-in-waiting to Princess Beatrice, but whatever it is, this book is absolutely grotesque.

What do you think??
