The Myth and Legends of Survivors / Re: What about...?

The Orthodox church must know what happened to the IF children. Why would Gibbs enter the Orthodox priesthood?  I do hope that they don't give in to Maria Vladimirovna's demands.  The church must not agree to declare them all dead, especially with two of them still missing.

The inforamtion could have been given to her by a member of staff that she must have know or may be a friend of a member.  People do talk. As for the jewels sewn into the seams and hems of clothes, many years ago, that method was used when expediting packages abroad.

Being a good actress  still does not explain how AA knew about the "little pillows" and the jewels sewn in the clothes in 1920.

Yes, there are still 2 bodies missing.  There is also the body of their aunt Princess Elizabeth (the Nun) that we cannot account for.   What if,  Princess Elizabeth took the children to a safe country posing as the children's mother using new identities under the protection of the  church.

I wish forensic scientists could confirm that Princes Elizabeth's body is definitely resting in Jerusalem and that her DNA confirms that.

My source has a recording of an old lady that claims that when she was a little girl she used to sit listening to stories of an IF's escape to freedom. The story was told to her around 1919. She's in a nursing home in the USA and as far as I know is still alive.

AA could have got her information from any source.

How true Tania.  Information and facts must have been distorted in order to keep the IF from being hunted down and murdered along with some of their relatives.  I do believe that most of the information was just a frabrication of events driven by the Bolsheviks in 1918 and continue to misinform researchers and historians today. However, I believe that there are people today with information that has been passed on to them that could possibly solve this mystery.

I can't open the icon to view the picture.  Is there a website that I can access to see this image.

Many thanks.

What do you mean "I already claimed Olga in a very vague and unlikely way months ago"?

This is confusing?

Can't be Tatiana. She escaped by aeroplane and re-emerged in the west as her alter-ego Amelia Earhart. My wife and I found her remains on a tropical island where we had our honeymoon. The DNA doesn't match, but as has been well stated that doesn't matter. Her left ear superimposed on Tatiana's ear showed five points of similarity and that is all the proof I needed. I don't know if she spoke Russian or not as she was deceased when found....Maybe your Grandmother was Maria! (I already claimed Olga in a very vague and unlikely way months ago)

Holly, I'd love to hear what you have to say.

AA and FS look like the same person to me.

Taking photos from one angle and then a different angle of a same individual, the noses can give the impression of difference.  AA and FS have the same shape nose just different angle. Same with the eyes.  Visually the hairline, the angle and distance of the ears, the distance between the eyes are  the same. Even her neck and shoulders are the same shape and length.

If AA and FS were different people the facial characteristics, shape angle and width etc. would be totally different.  Even if there were some resemblances between the two.

However, in the case of the above two photos of AA and FS they are one and same person.

In my opinion from the books that I have read, it's Anastasia the missing princess.  From the bones found in the grave there is little evidence to justify any conclusion.  Anastasia N would only have been 5'.  She was the shortest. The photos show she seemed average in weight but heavier than the other girls. Photographs always make you look heavier than your actual weight  and taller than actual height.

Nicholas must have been about 5'4".  I read somewhere that he wore platforms in his boots.  His shoes were specially make for him.  Alexei was taller than his father, but I don't think he was taller  than 5'6".  After all, he had been ill for many years and that would have affected his growth.

I also read somewhere that the FS scientists examining the remains couldn't make up their minds as to which skull was Olga or Maria's. They decided that Maria was the missing princess because they assumed her head measured slightly bigger in circumfrance.

I question and have doubts that the bones found were that of the IF.  I think they were rescued.

Imperial Claimants Post Here / Re: Granny Alena

I haven't posted in a while.  This claimant in my opinion - Granny Alena, doesn't resemble Marie or Anastasia N. She doesn't have the Romanov features or bone structure.  However, it's nice to know the subject is still being debated.
