Well, I agree. It is not totally his fault. All my complaints I made above are not really aimed at him, just commenting on this rather bad situation in general.  :(

Having Fun! / Re: Your Personal Top Ten Favorite Royal List

Hi you guys! Thanks for the compliments about my list.Well I like Kaiser Wilhem II and Queen Frederika,is because I like their look. Not necessarily their personalities. The Kaiser was such a "show-boy" who loved to put on a fabulous show that certainly would make anyone pay him a great deal of attention.Alot like Ms.Paris Hilton of late. His Majesty adored decorating himself with all those medals and orders.I know it sounds terribly superficial, but I like a Monarch that looks like a Monarch. As for Queen Frederika,I also like her because she was so glamorous and eccentric. And I deeply adore her daughter, H.M.Queen Sofia. So I feel some affection for her.The Queen of Spain turned out really well.I think Queen Frederika had something to do with that.

I must say, the handsome, charismatic Kaiser was NOTHING like the filthy, disgusting and monuntally stupid Ms. Paris Hilton.

No, I can't. I don't have a facebook page. I don't think they are commonly used by students in Australia.  ??? I would never be so bold as to suggest that to her, esp. as I don't know her. You know, I'm not the only one who wants that match, I have seen many others on another forum express hopes about it!

Yes...However I pretty much doubt that the marriage of Helena & Christian was a love match (unlike Vicky's & Alice's). It was an arranged marriage that worked. I beleve that they became genuinely fond of each other, but I don't think the affection existed BEFORE the marriage.  :(

Well Helena and Christian must have had some affection for each other before the marriage, or else they wouldn't have agreed to marry each other. I don't know what the attraction to him was, he must have been charming in some way/s, as he wasn't very handsome and he was quite old.

I cannot stand Paul Burrell. He is such a creep and liar, and he seems to have no idea how ridiculous he is in every way. You should see the way he behaves on ''Australian Princess''. He acts like he is the ruling authority on ALL matters royal and is SO rude and bossy to everyone. If I was a contestant on that show I would be unable to stop myself from telling him what a disgraceful idiot he is, and with all the emabrassing things he has done, he has no right to be giving advice on acting ''royal'' to anybody!!!!

As for Harry now definitely not going to Iraq.

Well this has been a completley farcical situation for some time now. If this was the likely outcome, it should NEVER have been suggested in the first place.

What of all the farewell parties, speeches, holidays, presents?!!! It is all so stupid.

What is he going to do now, back to the nightclubs?

It is very sad for three main reasons.
1. It is a huge propaganda and morale boosting victory for the Terrorists. They have succeeded in scaring the authorities from sending Harry.
2. How is this fair to all the other soldiers, who have to go there, no matter what the risks, knowing that the terrorists DO want to kill them, but they still have to do their job regardless? Harry's life is not really worth any more than there's is.
3. It appears that the British Royal Family's 300 or so year tradition of serving in the military, and fighting in wars no matter the risk of death, has now come to an end. Other British Princes have DIED in wars, including Prince Christian Victor and Prince Maurice, couldn't Harry at least do something for the army's effort, even if it is not active service?

Maybe they do have something to do with her, because maybe she profits from her father's wealth. I'm sure she does, as she wouldn't be able to afford 20 thousand pound watches by herself from her own earnings, whatever she does earn, if anything. Her father's connections are very unsavoury, and they are ongoing, I would not approve of Chelsy and Harry marrying at all, but I won't worry about it just yet.

Chelsy's father has gone on record to distance himself from the Muggabe connections:

Quote
His business links with a minister have aroused suspicion in Zimbabwe, where all but a handful of white landowners have been dispossessed, and prompted calls for him to be punished with sanctions.

Mr Davy, 53, broke his silence to respond to questions from The Daily Telegraph about his business relationship with Webster Shamu, the minister in the president's office responsible for policy implementation.

Mr Shamu, an MP from the ruling Zanu-PF party, features on a list of 95 prominent Zimbabweans banned from entering the European Union.

"I am in business with Mr Shamu and have been for five years," said Mr Davy. "We have an excellent and honest business partnership. Why should this change? I am in business not politics."

He claimed that he was not spared the Mugabe campaign of dispossessing white farmers, saying that he gave up 140,000 acres to the government.

The sentence in bold is very questionable, imo.

Full article: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2005/06/11/wdad11.xml

Also, that watch story sounds preposterous to me.

He obviously hasn't distanced himself enough, since the connections still exist. This man is a serious evil criminal, who has wrecked Zimbabwe completely, any connections are unacceptable!

The sentence in bold is probably true. It features an interview with Mr. Davy, they can't just make up words coming out of his mouth. He went on the record and said this.

The watch story sounds believable to me. It is not so ridiculous. These are very spoilt, pampered, extravagant young people. Chelsy probably did buy him the watch. I suppose we should watch out for him wearing it.

I read a comment from someone who goes to the same university as Princess Theodora of Greece and Denmark (Brown University I think), and she has a facebook page too. I would like to see it, but I guess I can't!

I do think Chelsy comes across as much more 'relaxed'.

However the Mugabe/Zimbabwean connection does her no favours in the eyes of many.   Which is a pity since her father's working arrangments have nothing to do with her.

tsaria

I don't know about anyone else, but when I hear the word skinhead I think neo nazi. So unless anyone has any proof that Zara's boyfriend is a neo nazi, I don't think the word skinhead really applies. He just has a buzz cut...

Yes exactly! He just has a shaved head, he doesn't deserve to be called a skinhead, which often means a racist/some type of Nazi, which I'm sure Zara's boyfriend is not.

Yes...By Bismark's standards !

I wouldn't say that she was the perfect royal. grace & charm is also needed (things that "ugly" (by QV's standards) Helena did not pocess). The successes of Queen Alexandra, Empress Marie Feodorovna  and Queen Marie of Romania are more examples of the perfect royal.  ;)

Helena wasn't the perfect royal, neither was QA, MF, or Queen Marie. They all had some faults. Helena wasn't a bad royal, she was a fine Princess and a NOT ugly woman at all. QV criticised the looks of many of her relatives, it doesn't really mean anything, as QV didn't really think any of them were ugly. If she did, she must have thought she was the ugliest of the whole family, as Helena was better looking than her mother anyway!

Yes Grace is right on this one - they wouldn't have seen it. It wouldn't be easy for them, Charles wouldn't even consider it I'm sure. And William and Harry would find it much too awkward and disconcerting. The Queen flat out refuses to watch any portryal of herself. The proposed meeting between Mirren and the Queen would have involved disussing the success of the film, Mirren's thoughts about her portrayal and it's succes, rather than discussing the issues in the film itself I would think.

I think it was said by a spokesman of the Duke of York that she has a facebook page, not myspace page.
If it is her myspace page, why wouldn't she set it on private?
It can't be genuine - it has links to the Queen's supposed myspace page. And there is no way HM would have one. Even dead royals like Queen Victoria have myspace pages set up in their names. ::)

Exactly. What would the "real" Eugenie have people pretending to be her relatives on her friends list?

I did a facebook search for a Eugenie York at Marlborough College, the school she attends. A profile did come up, but since she's not on my friends list I couldn't see it. Facebook profiles are harder to fake than myspace ones -you have to have a valiud email address from that college in order to register. Still, no telling if it's really her.

I think the ''Eugenie York'' facebook page is hers, I have heard that is what she goes by on it. I've never bothered to look at facebook though. Still, I don't think this is necessarily bad, because as you found out, it is private and only her friends who she had approved can see it, much better than the fake myspace page! I'm surprised Katie Nichol from the Daily Mail couldn't work out it was fake!

Wow, great pictures! It's lovely to see them looking so respectable and Princely.

Is it just me or does William resemble Prince Albert Victor, the ill-fated Duke of Clarence?

It's not just you, I can see a resemblance, and I can also see a resemblance between Prince Eddy and Lord Frederick Windsor. The genes of Queen Alexandra and King Edward VII are strong! Despite the influence of Diana and the late Queen Mother's genes, the Royal genes are stronger. And I suppose Prince Philip's Danish genes/background reinforced that.

Yes it's true Kate did a big service for Jigsaw by making them more famous by working there.

It's interesting to think how at the start of the year, Kate was becoming more and more famous, and now I think she is gradually becoming noticeably less famous. I think she was aware this woud happen, that's why on the weekend of the split she bought at least one box full of all the papers, so she could remember the time when she was on the cover of all of them.

So Isabella and William are not secretly seeing each other. But that doesn't mean that William didn't want to have a relationship with her, it appears she turned him down for the far richer, and in some people's opinions better-looking Sam. Personally I prefer William's looks. :)

It will be interesting to see who ends up as William's next proper girlfriend, since it's apprently not going to be Isabella Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe.

As for William's alcohol expenditure, to me, it doesn't really matter where he gets the money from, his father or the taxpayer, or whether he is paying for his own drinks or the entire party's drinks, it is still bad behaviour to waste that much money, and it is not a good image that is being projected.
