I like it too, but am still hoping for Helena or Mathilda. ::fingers crossed::

I also thought Charlotte and/or Arthur!

Isn't Prince Edward's son named James? They can't have two Jameses.  My wish would be John, if only to break the "curse."

I'm putting my hat in the ring for "Helena" if it's a girl. Helena Elizabeth Diana Mary.

(I don't know why I think that, other than it's the only name of a daughter of Victoria that hasn't been used by the RF lately, to my knowledge.)
4  Discussions about the Imperial Family and European Royalty / The Windsors / Re: Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyll on: July 20, 2012, 06:50:42 AM
They're showing last season's episodes of Antiques Roadshow (UK) on Ovation, and yesterday morning a man brought in two dresses owned by Princess Louise, plus a dressmaker's sample, and a sketch book with sketches and watercolors done by Louse, Helena, and Alice.

They didn't discuss at all the dress that looked like it was maybe from a 6-8 year-old child, but they did discuss the bigger dress (maybe from when she was a teenager - they didn't hold it up so I couldn't tell).  It was a bright navy and green plaid silk dress, all hand-stitched, and it was GORGEOUS.  Even the buttons were handmade.  I can't even imagine what it was like to own ONE dress like that, much less an entire wardrobe.  It was incredible.

The sketch book was surprising, because even though it was full of signed sketches and watercolors by three princesses, the expert said it wasn't worth very much (maybe 1500 pounds?) since there's not a big demand.  I was all, "I'd pay TWICE that!" Smiley
5  Discussions about the Imperial Family and European Royalty / Iberian Royal Families / Re: Braganza royal family & Brazilian royalty on: June 25, 2012, 01:56:13 PM
Does anyone know how Prince Luís Gastão of Orléans-Braganza died at age 20?  He was, until his death, Prince Pedro Henrique's heir.

I'd like to know that answer too.  I can't find anything.
7  Discussions about the Imperial Family and European Royalty / The Hesse-Darmstadts (Hesse and by Rhine) / Re: Books on the Hesse Royals on: January 24, 2011, 03:32:33 PM
So EXCITED -- I found "Hessian Tapestry" on AbeBooks.com for less than $50, and that includes shipping.  Woo!
8  Discussions about the Imperial Family and European Royalty / The Hohenzollern / Re: Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia, his family and descendants on: January 18, 2011, 02:05:25 PM
Louis Ferdinand's grandson Price Richard Louis of Prussia died young, apparently leaving a son born posthumously.  What happened?  Accident?  Illness?
9  Discussions about the Imperial Family and European Royalty / The Habsburgs / Re: Archduke Leopold Salvator of Tuscany (1863-1931),his family and descendants on: October 25, 2010, 11:58:55 AM
Thank you, Marie Charlotte

I wonder what caused the sepsis.  Not that it mattered, since it could've been anything, due to antibiotics not being invented yet!
10  Discussions about the Imperial Family and European Royalty / The Windsors / Re: Queen Victoria & hemophilia on: September 10, 2010, 07:31:45 AM
I'm reading Charlotte Zeepvat's book on Leopold, and it struck me:  Did the hemophilia stop in the great-great-grandchild generation?  Just off the top of my head, I can't think of anyone mentioning hemophilia past Ena's boys.  I guess it's because by then, they could treat it.

Yes, her youngest son.

What is the story with Prince Gustav?  I can see his sister never marrying, as she was probably born to help her mother, but him?  I can't seem to find anything on him.
14  Discussions about the Imperial Family and European Royalty / Balkan Royal Families / Re: Royal Family of Montenegro--past and present on: January 17, 2009, 08:38:23 AM
Thanks, grandduchessella!  I swear I looked through the whole thread, must have just overlooked this.  Sorry!  (I really try to find a previous thread before I open a new one, I swear!! Smiley)
15  Discussions about the Imperial Family and European Royalty / Balkan Royal Families / Re: Royal Family of Montenegro--past and present on: January 16, 2009, 02:00:03 PM
I noticed while reading up on the royal family of Montenegro, Prince Mirko (who himself died young at 38) had four sons who died either as children or as very young men.  The middle son, Prince Michael, is the father of the present prince.  However, I couldn't find out how these poor children died.  Does anyone have any information?
