WHO?
Who is SHE?
Please - lets either identify our sources outright - or just not mention them...
I cannot locate this original post -was it even posted here- or was it a pm? This is the way that nasty rumours get started and I feel certain that Zackattack does not intend this at all.

I do believe this is a not-so-subtle jab at Penny Wilson, who is no longer here to defend herself.

Ok about the pregnancy issue...I was under the impression that AA in later life refused to discuss her possible child and even attempted to deny the whole 'baby' aspect of the story...I may be considering "out of date" evidence- so please can anyone clarify that point?

Also what about a botched abortion ?

Also, there is no evidence of her saviour/lover/ex-guard - Mr. Tschycovsky (sp :-[) - to be found anywhere in the the Urals - and and no evidence of his 'demise' in a street brawl in Budapest (no death certificate)... am I misunderstanding her initial story then - or am I thinking of one of the other 'claiments'?

sorry  -- am I completely "off topic"?
rs

Good questions!

1.  Although AA refused to discuss any child later in life, I know the doctors at Dalldorf found evidence of pregnancy, which corroborated AA story.  No child has ever come forward, but not surprising if the bit about leaving him in a Romanian orphanage was true.

2.  Although FS had no known child/pregnancy, it is possible that she may have had a miscarriage or abortion.  If she were pregnant when her fiance was killed, either scenario could be caused by the stress.

3.  Alexander Tschaikovsky (sp?) is a mystery man.  No one has ever produced evidence of his existence.  Those who are certain FS = AA think it was just a close name to her own name (Schanzkowska/Tschaikovsky) to claim as her "rescuer."  I think it very likely, myself.

As I recall, I thought this thread was to discuss the differences between FS and AA as perceived at the time and now.  NOT to keep negating each thing as it is brought up.  That is hardly productive.

And until all the medical records of FS and AA/FU are reviewed by multiple researchers and transplanted into English, we must rely on the evidence we have before us--namely the word of those that have seen any records, and the evidence presented in the trial.  If it was good enough for the German legal system, one would assume it will pass muster here.

Kimberly, you twisted my arm!  ;)  I just ordered a copy off Amazon--$4.98 including shipping!  I love Hollywood bios, so knowing David Niven, the whole book ought to be entertaining.

David Niven devotes a whole chapter to him in his book"Bring on the Empty Horses". The fascinating thing is, that for all Mike Romanoff's "Tall Tales". He always had something that would back the tale up to a degree.

Hmmmm.  Thanks!!  I may have to see if my library has that book.  Even though he was not a "real" Romanov, Prince Mike was quite the interesting character!   :D

Maureen, welcome!!  And well said.  I agree with you completely.

We have no proof FS was ever 5'6" other than word of mouth with no 'sources.' Do not take it as a true statement until it's official, if ever.

We have no "proof" that FS was not 5'6" either.  I would think that the family saying their sister was taller than Gertrude and Marie Julianna would count for something.

I had forgotten about this guy!!  I remember reading about him in Lauren Bacall's bio, and how he used to play chess with Bogie.  Thanks for the background!  I never knew more than what Bacall relayed.

1.  No one survived the night in the cellar.  Some were alive as they were carried from the cellar per the eyewitness accounts, but the extent of injuries on the bodies that were recovered leaves me no doubt that the two missing bodies more than likely suffered injuries at least as bad.

2.  No, AA was not ANR.

Helen, maybe History International will get it eventually.  Their shows are fairly high quality, and not "dumbed down" the way some of the History Channel's are.  Or should I say the Hitler Channel?   :-/

Laura, check your PMs for my answer about the Clarke book.  I sent you a message to see if you still needed my address?  I see that on the 26th you show that you have it, but I thought I sent my message before that.

Thanks!!

I read Penmarric long ago, but way before my interest in the Plantagenets.  I may have to try to get my hands on those books.  Thanks for the tip!!

So,  do most of us agree that we need to know more about the Berlin police investigation into the disapearance and murder of FS from 9 March 1920 to the time the police went to the FS family and told them that FS was murdered on 13 Aug 1920?

AGRBear

Most definitely!!  I haven't been posting lately (incredibly busy) but have been reading this thread with interest.  I would say that we know to know more about the Grossman investigation, and if it was CERTAIn that FS was his victim (IE, evidence outside of a name in a diary).  If FS death by serial killer was a foregone conclusion, why then did Ernie's detective feel he could be successful pinning AA's identity to FS?

Anyway, just more questions, as usual.  I have been gone for a while, but good to see some thinfs never change.

Let's stay OT--How did FS pull off the charade of being "GDA" Anna Anderson?

The uncle Ernie/OA/Summers and Mangold belong on another thread please!!

Thanks...
