But this Coburg nose is so terrible like the Habsburg lips. I think Luisa had this from Helene. On portraits you can see that she hadn´t a little nose. Like sister Maria. She had a big one!

Off topic but let's remember that the infamous Coburg nose was originally an Orléans nose thanks to dear Clémentine... :-)

The baby isn't Carl but Astrid. There is a matching picture with Margaretha and Märtha as well.

It's not an Hungarian but a Rokokko fancy ball dress... There's a larger version of this picture as well showing both Gisela and Prince Alfons of Bavaria.

Hope springs eternal! After all the author has 320 pages to write something interesting - and hopefully there will be some new pictures as well.   

Almost no pictures taken of weddings, many postmortem photo's and it was focused on the family of the Comte of Paris. Henry, Comte de Paris cousin of Prince Michael was also an author of this book.

Without having a look at the book I remember pictures of the wedding of both Princess Louise to Infant Carlos and of Prince Jean's (the later count of Paris) wedding to Princess Isabelle of Orléans-Braganza. Nonetheless I understand what you mean by serious, the book offers a lot of text besides the pictures as well which the Rosvall books usually don'T.

By the way its totally different from "Mon Album de Famille".

Where you do you get "Mon Album de Famille"?  I can find the Burbon-Orleons book on a couple of sites, but not this one.

I found some copies of that book on amazon.fr/co.uk/.de and abebooks but for rather exaggerated prices (120 € - open end). When I bought my copy of this lovely book some years ago I only payed about 40 €. Nonetheless I would say the book is even worth 120€ (for enthusiasts) as many pictures in the book are still rare.

Thank you guys! I haved longed for that book since I have first heard of it and so I now ordered it at hoogstraten as amazon would most likely let me wait forever... :-P

We have already talked about this very book on the thread about the upcoming book 2009, but this book certainly deserves it's own thread. On amazon.co.uk and .de it is still labeled as "not yet available" - any informations about this?

I don't have a dublicate book but a dublicate DVD - Ferdinando and Carolina (1999); it's about Marie Antoinette's sister Maria Carolina and her Neapolitan husband's "lovestory". Would someone like to swap? :-)

Thanks. It is quite clear that the photograph was taken in a studio but one connects birches rather with nordic countries (also as a studio background...) than e.g. Austria.

Is this a new edition of Prince Michael and the Comte de Paris' "Un album de famille" which was on the Orléans family in the 19th and 20th century as well or a completely new book (that would be awesome)?

Not so much a book deal, but I have recently acquired a huge inventory of Royalty Digest back issues from ebay.  There must be close to a 100 issues; the years vary from 1993 to 2004. It came to only $16.75 (plus shipping) for the whole lot!!  I can't wait to start reading these. :-)

And I'm also in search for Romanoff Un Album de Famille, by Ferrand.

As Forum member Ashanti has been posting lovely and rare pictures from that book I have been looking for that book as well and was lucky enough to find it for a fair price (45 €). Can't wait till it arrives! :-)

There's two "Romanoff: un album de famille" one from 1989 and another from 1990.

There was a book dedicated to Grand Duke Alexander's family "Romanov Fragments de Vie". You may have this copy?

Either way Ferrand's books are all greatly sought and admired. The 1989 album I have had a few pictures of GD Konstantin I had not seen before. 

I only have Ferrand's book on GD Paul Alexandrovich's family at hand, my other two books by this author are at my parents home (Romanov fragments de vie and Romanov: un album de famille). I seem to have mixed up the contents of these two book. :-)
