When I was 13 and reading N and A every night before I went to bed, I had a nightmare that my family and I were captured and held by Bolsheviks who were taking over America. It was long and scary. We were in an underground building. My cousin rescued me on her motorbike. The IF wasn't there but I know they inspired it.

That must have been terrifying for you!  :o

Oh and BTW, I remember the name of Tatiana's solo.  It was called "The Clouds Will Pass".  I found the lyrics that I wrote down and I am now willing to give them too through private messaging.

I am sure that Nicky and Alix would have allowed at least the older sisters to go with relatives.  They may have wanted to hold on to Marie, Anastasia, and Alexei because they were still young.

It was the name of one of Alexanders servants. I think it also had a connection with a family that provided him papers.

Do you happen to remember the servant's name and what happened to him?

I have the LIFE article... it's quite interesting.
I've tried to collect her book just to add to my collection but it's hard finding a nice quality version  :-/

Laura, would you mind re-typing the article on the thread?  I would love to read it.

Does anyone happen to have any pics of Golienewski?

He supposedly ran off and took the name of Fyodor Kuzmich.

Any idea why he might have chosen this name?  Was it a random choice or did it have some kind of meaning?

Do you remember the name of her book?  You two make it seem like the book is really good but she looks absolutely nothing like Anastasia.

There is always so much talk about Anna Anderson's claim to fame, but what about Eugenia Smith?  I know absolutely nothing about her, does anyone have any info on her or pics?  Does anyone on this forum believe her?

I just now read that thread, seems that it wasn't discussed very extensively.  I read somewhere before where it gave a location of where he might have escaped to, (I want to say South-something), I will have to look it up.  I am surprised that there were no people claiming to be decendants of Alexander.  I never understood what fun claimants got out of confusing people and wasting their time with lies, (Although, I do give some respect to AA and a few others, at least they were smart enough to actually come up with stories that people believe, I am NOT saying that AA was Anastasia though)  Anyways, my memory is a little fuzzy, does anyone know how Alexander was "killed", if I am not mistaken, he was shot somewhere public?

There are rumors everywhere saying that Alexander I faked his death, and lived on as a monk so that he would not have to be tsar.  People say that the Soviet Government opened his coffin in the 1920's and found it empty.  Is there an axtual record of this?  Has anyone actually re-opened the coffin?

The Twentieth Century Fox Film, "Anastasia", also got me interested.  I watched it all the time when I was younger.  I heard it was based on true events, but I was like, "How in the --- was that based on true events?  A talking bat and some kind of zombie-sorcerer Rasputin, (Although, I must admit that it was a good movie, highly impractical, but good)!  After I started researching I haven't stopped yet.
