Felicidades Espana, final de Copa del Mundo a primera vez!!

HM Queen Sofia has indicated she will remain in South Africa till sunday,
HM did so ahead of tonights game in Durban Spain - Germany, she must be clairvoyant.... Grin

Gracias, Lucien (Thank you!).

Sofia is a great supporter to "La Roja" but I would be very very pleased if our king could be next sunday there...I think we are sincerely worried about Juan Carlos and we wish to see him again supporting the team to win the Cup Wink

It is telling that Isabel is in the center, not Felipe.

Of course, dear! I can´t imagine Isabel being not in the center Wink

The drawing is lovely, Katenka, but the picture is wonderful. Look:

Congrats to all the svenska folket (spelling?) for a very lovely wedding and a great broadcasting coverage!! It has been stunning, I´m madly in love with Stockholm and the newly married ones. Victoria is a beautiful girl and a charming person!!

Anyone has this cabinet bigger and in better quality? I like the picture so much...

8  Discussions about the Imperial Family and European Royalty / The Wittlesbachs / Re: Duke Max and Duchess Ludovica (née Princess of Bavaria) in Bavaria - Empress Elisabeth's parents on: April 29, 2010, 08:27:44 AM
i agree. Beautiful image but doesnt looks like ludovica at all (and that kinda pisses me off. I love accurate portraits)

Haha. :-)

The caption says "Louise Herzogin von Bayern Gemahlin Prinz Maximilian" (Louise Duchess of Bavaria Wife Prince Maximilian) - and this is completely wrong. Ludovica was a Duchess in Bavaria and her husband Max has never been a prince, but a duke. Assuming that the painter was also responsible for the frame, it's no wonder that the woman doesn't resemble Ludovica a lot.

I usually agree with Katenka and yourself, Marie. But this time I have my doubts. I see a resemblance between this lady and the portraits I´ve seen of young princesses Amalie and Sophie, the two of them sisters of Ludovika. But -of course- this could be a casualty...

I´ve found this picture with ID Luise Hohenzollern geb Thurn und Taxis...

If you found it in on-line anno.onb.ac.at database I don't think the ID is wrong.

Yes, Sveta, this is the site where I´ve found the picture Wink

14  Discussions about the Imperial Family and European Royalty / The Habsburgs / Re: Help with Photo Identification, Question or Caption on: February 16, 2010, 12:53:19 PM
I´m not convinced, Katy, although I know you´re an ace...and also Sveta, by the way Wink You see a soft resemblance, but I still think the lady has the Braganza´s features. Maybe my eyes are seeing what I want to see: to be honest, you know Maria Theresa in one of my great favourites ever!!;)
15  Discussions about the Imperial Family and European Royalty / The Habsburgs / Re: Help with Photo Identification, Question or Caption on: February 16, 2010, 11:55:47 AM
Not even just the face or part of the dress? Again, im with Svetabel, No resemblance at all between the real archduchess and this lady.

I'm sorry. When I wrote that I was in possession of another photo of this sitting, I didn't remember that it was one of the photos I got from a friend's collection. She doesn't want me to publish it, because she also thinks that it's a rare one of young Marie Therese.

I am not absolutely sure anymore, but I still think she's Marie Therese or at least one of her sisters.

Again, I can't imagine her to be one of the Thurn und Taxis girls.

Don´t worry, Marie Wink I understand your point about the picture from your friend´s collection.

I usually think Katenka has a very good eye to recognize wrong labeled pictures. But this time...I still believe she´s Maria Theresa or one of her sisters, too Wink
