« on: June 10, 2010, 06:09:56 PM »
This is a thread for the artists that have other artwork besides Romanov related artwork.    I would love to see what other people draw/paint etc.

I was inspired by Groseheart to start this thread.  :-)

Having Fun! / Romanov Roleplay....
« on: March 27, 2010, 07:08:36 AM »
Back in 2002, I was in a Romanov RPG.  I'm not sure who was a part of it, but I played Pierre Gilliard.

It was rather fun until whoever run the RPG changed the posting style from "First Person" view to "Second Person view." Which at the time I was confused by the sudden change of style.  After that I stopped posting because I got beretted by not posting in the new style.

There was another Romanov RPG yahoo group but we didn't have many members so it collapsed.

Has anyone on here been in these RPG style Romanov groups?

Having Fun! / What is the most craziest thing you done in public?
« on: March 22, 2010, 05:30:22 PM »
Just thought of this topic, wondering what is the most craziest thing you have done in public.  It can be anything random :)

Myself,  the other day I wore my corset (with bra underneath) with jeans.   I went down the main street with my boyfriend and cousin.  Ran into my 70 odd year old tutor who seemed very flustered by my apperance.  It was fun, especially when people didn't know where to look haha.

Having Fun! / Youtube favourites. (NON-Romanov & Royality videos)
« on: March 09, 2010, 04:45:04 PM »
Hey guys,

I know there is a huge thread on Romanov youtube videos, but am wondering what your favourite youtube videos are that are not related to royality or Romanovs.

Please share links :D

Just wondering?  Or any other palaces in St Petersburg?

I am so happy to find an Australian TV series titled Mirror Mirror which was one of my favourite show when I hit my early teens.

Summary:  Jo is a typical school age girl, her mother is a brand new prinicpal at a school and during a field excavation a mysterious drum from 1919 is found.  While trying to open the contents inside a mysterious liquid comes out and puts Jo's friends in hospital, in a coma.  During this time she and her father go to an antique shop where a mysterious old man gives her a mirror.  After helping her set it up  in her room the man leaves and Jo sees a girl who is not from her time.
Okay so this is a fun series, with adventure glore,  Jo travels back to 1919 and trys to stop this drum being buried.   Along the way she meets Lousia the girl in the mirror and they have to try to live in each other's world.   In Lousia's time a strange group of people move in next to her, a British man his butler and a Russian boy who only gives his name as Nicholas until Jo finds out he is infact Alexei the son of Nicholas II and he goes by the name Nicholas to hide his identity as he is wanted by the Bolshivieks.

I have been so wanting to share this with everyone on here for ages and have just stumbled across it via youtube and the wonderful poster has all 20 episodes.  I didn't want to give much of the plot away but I hope you guys enjoy it and please tell me what you think of it?

Having Fun! / If the dynasty still exisited where would we be?
« on: February 12, 2010, 01:36:44 AM »
I know that there is other Romanov relatives still out there, however, if all royality still existed  today Russian, Germany, Romanian etc do you think we would have deep appreciation for the IF like we all do?

I just thought about this as we so many new members have appeared, some with a thing for OTMA (yes I used to be like that lol) and others with a general interest.

Any thoughts?

I thought I start a thread of docos of the IF from the 1990s.

My earliest IF doco was when I was nine years old it was "Unsolved mysteries" special on Anna Anderson,  I was spooked by the music but recall seeing  a close up of this photo .

"Great Crimes of the 20th century"  There was an episode of the murder of the IF.   This series also was a book which my highschool library had (unsure why that was) and it is actually how I found out about the IF and fell in love with the OTMA shot of them in the formal room, where Maria is resting her chin in her hand and Tatiana is looking down at a book.

Lastly a series called:

"Myths and Lengends of the 20th century/ Now exposed."

It was a wonderful series although had a spooky opening theme and they slowed that footage of the royal procession where Anastasia looks into the camera.  That made me jump lol.  They did an episode on Anna Anderson which I have on VHS.   Which showed that they didn't believe AA was Anastasia and gave very good evidence as to why.

Anyone else see any good docos from the 90s.

Olga Nicholaievna / Public gossip as to why Olga wasn't married?
« on: February 05, 2010, 04:38:41 AM »
I know this is another "Marriage" thread  ::),  but this has plauged my mind for the last few days.   I read somewhere that the public must have gossiped as to why Alexei was still being carried around even by the age of nine/ten.  Etc,  its human nature to gossip.

But it made me think since Olga and obviously Tatiana were at a "ripe" age to marry,  would the public have questioned as to why these "beautiful" and "powerful" girls where not married or the least engaged?  I bet there was a few eyebrows raised at the idea,  considering that the IF were a well known family in the Western World.

Any thoughts?

Having Fun! / Cashing on OTMA's image with pendants on eBay. Please Read.
« on: November 18, 2009, 11:14:35 AM »
I was looking for Romanov memorbilla when I came across these cheap pendants with what looks like "colored" pictures taken from the colored pic links. That have been cropped to fit onto pendents.

I'm sure someone around hear have colored them and these colored pics have been taken without permission yet again :rolls eyes:

Please tell me who is it that have colored these photos.

Last night I couldn't sleep so while flicking through channels I came across on the ABC (Australia) the film "The rise of Catherine the Great" it was an entertaining movie and I giggled at Catherine in soilder uniform as it reminded me of seeing the photographs of OTM in their regiment uniforms.

Was wondering if any one has seen this movie do they know it if it was filmed in any of the Russian palaces?  I'm saying the actors were British but the sets looked like they were from the palaces before their distruction of WWII.

Having Fun! / A new idea for a SUB-Forum in Having Fun.
« on: August 08, 2009, 02:31:19 AM »
I haven't been in here in a few months, mainly because I have other things to look at on the interwebs and last night I come on here and low and behold  ::) What thread should be at the top "Colored Pictures number 42412".

I am going to admit, at first the color thread was cool, but after so many months of people coloring the same pictures etc (yeah not really art just being "creative" I can colour a picture from a picture book.  I can color a photograph of Elizabeth Short with mspaint it's NOT ART.)

Everytime I go on having fun Colored Pictures number XXXXXXXXXXXX is always on the top.   There is interesting other threads were people can be creative, drawings are great, because it shows other members talent and not mere experince with photoshop.  Fanfiction come on people if I can write a short story and even with some people with minimal writing experience can write a Romanov fanfiction then you surely can write a story.

I used to like looking at silly questions such as the famous "What would Olga look line in jeans?"  or once in 2005 someone asked "What if OTMA were in current times do you think that they would be hanging around Paris Hilton?"   but no now days lazy uncreative members just thinking taking a long time coloring the same photographs over and over is worth posting as a tribute.

Oh yes  I am aware that in 2008 I posted a thread about someone stealing colored pics but that was before the CRAZE of posting colored photographs.  Where once upon a time looking at colored pics was great when it was different pics but alas members now think it is great to do it over and over.

Having Fun! / Monogram thread...
« on: May 17, 2009, 06:03:53 AM »
There was a thread somewhere where it was discussing NAOTMAA's personal monograms.  Like the initals were intertwined etc.

Just wondering where the links are?

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed in most Romanov movies the actresses have their hair in the style of OTMA during the 1914 photographs even when they are taken to the basement.
Example: Nicholas & Alexandra
Rasputin (Alan Rickman ver)

I can't recall the hair style in Lost Prince.

Romanovy was almost excluded, except the early scenes when they are at AP.  The actresses especially the younger have hairstyles of the 1914 photographs considering that it is 1917 and Maria had her hair up by then.  At least Romanovy tried to make it as historically accurate as possible even though the girls had their heads shaved for real,  I guess with budget they couldn't afford short wigs.
