Having Fun! / Grand Duchess royal costume..
« on: June 07, 2007, 06:15:16 AM »
Looking on AMAZON.

I came across the Anastasia waltz costume.   It's not as nice as the real ones.  But close to it.  So you can now dress your little one as OTMA. LOL.

Having Fun! / Getting to know you...
« on: May 22, 2007, 07:33:42 AM »
I know it doesnt seem like it belongs here. I was watching the clip This isnt my idea? on youtube.
I was watching as the characters of Odette and Derek are growing up during the summer.  Each stage reminded me of OTMA.  Like when they are children/early teen years Odette reminds me of Anastasia, midteens reminds me of Maria and the late teens/early adult reminds me of Olga and Tatiana combined.

What do you guys think?
I also have to say this King and Queen are adorable lol. I dont know why but they just as.

Having Fun! / Quotes that remind you of NAOTMAA?
« on: March 18, 2007, 06:40:33 AM »
I have found some quotes that remind of NAOTMAA.

These following quotes are from Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975) although I have read the book I cant recall any of the quotes from it.
Miranda: What we see and what we seem are but a dream, a dream within a dream.

Marion: A surprising number of human beings are without purpose, though it is probable that they are performing some function unknown to themselves.

Miranda: Everything begins and ends at the exactly right time and place.

Miss McCraw: This we do for pleasure, so that we may shortly be at the mercy of venomous snakes and poisonous ants. How foolish can human creatures be.

What are some quotes that reminds you of them?

Having Fun! / Has anyone read the book Picnic at Hanging Rock?
« on: March 17, 2007, 09:03:58 AM »
Has anyone read or seen the movie of Picnic at Hanging Rock?  It is another mysterious story which happened in 1900.   A group of girls from a ladies college have a picnic at a national park.  On St Valentines day 1900.  During this excursion. Three girls and One teacher go up a rock to mysteriously vanish only one survives.

It is a great book and film. I am mentioning it as I was looking at the costumes from the movie and kinda let me to thoughts of OTMA.

Having Fun! / How did you get bitten by the Romanov Bug II.
« on: January 03, 2007, 09:14:54 AM »
Since the last one was not replyed to within the last 120 days I am going to start a new one.

I got into the Romanovs maybe by fate.  When I was nine years old Unsolved Mysterious came on and it was about Anna Anderson and her amazing "escape" from that fateful night.  (I am one of those that doesn't believe she was Anastasia).  When I was 11 in 1995.  I was really into this tv series called Mirror Mirror at the time I was only interested in the storyline but didn't think of one of the main characters.   The story is about a girl who travels back to 1919 by a Mirror and ends being friends with the girl who had the mirror at the time.  They try and rescue a boy called Nicholas who is being saved keeping by a guy who wants to give him to the red army.  They find out that Nicholas is in fact Alexei and he is the heir to the Russian throne.  If you want to read the story line the link is posted  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirror%2C_Mirror_%28TV_series%29
Then in 1997 before the Cartoon came out I was reading a book titled Great Crimes of the 20th Century. And I came across this beautiful pic of OTMA
That was when I feel in love with the family.  Ever since then I have been a real fan of the Imperial family.  I would like to hear from others.

Having Fun! / Why did you chose your signature?
« on: January 03, 2007, 05:56:41 AM »
Here is a question and I will answer it.  I am wondering why you all chose the signature you have?  I love looking at people's signatures and I think their all beautiful.
My signature is from a TATY/t.A.T.u song called "Vysa Moya Lyubov" in English it translate to "All My Love".  This song is a sweet and beautiful ballard.  TATY is my favourte singing duo.  Not because their Russian but because their music is so deep and meaningful.
The verse is :
Russian
I sebya na nadyosh'
V nelyubimyh domah
I narvyosh'sya na strah
Kak na minu vpot'mah
Ne vernyosh', sorry
Styorli

English
And don't you put yourself
in the house that you hate
And you run in terror
like in a dark mine
You won't return, sorry
It's been erased

This verse makes me think of the last moments of NAOTMAA when they were stuck in the Ipatiev house and then when they were killed and their bodies first dumped in the old mine or course they never did return alive.
