Lovely pictures.

I agree, Irina looks a lot like Tatiana, especially when they were younger, with their hair down... as they grew up however, I think Tatiana was simple stunning

Thank you for the beautiful pictures.

Didnt you in a way felt a bit "cheated" when you visited.

I did... Dont get me wrong, I still loved the fact that I was able to BE there.... but just seeing empty room after empty room... and just a large b/w pic on the back.. I dont know... I felt like they could do so much better.......

Although it is not a Russian folktale, but a novel, I love Alie Parusa (Crimson Sails)  and the idea that you can achieve any goals and that dreams WILL come true, if you believe!

I also like the story of the orange fish (zalataya ribka) ... it doesnt have the pretty pretty ending of a fairytale, but it does have a good message in my opinion... that you dont value the things you have not worked for.

Imperial Russian History / Re: Peter the great and Alexey

I had no idea there was no actual proof that Peter caused Aleksey's death.

I remember reading that he visited Aleksey at the Peter and Paul Fortress and that he hit him so much and so hard that he eventuall yhad convulsions and died.

The Tsaritsa does look very worried though....

The Final Chapter / Re: Newfound bodies?

I totally agree with you etonexile... those forest must have enough bodies to keep investigators busy... if they so wish

That is a very interesting article.

As for what happened to the 2 missing bodies, like you said Bear, as long as they are missing, we can ALL speculate and come up with different explanations.

What I also find intriguing is that most "survivors" claim to be either Aleksei or Anastasia.... funny how those 2 bodies are the ones missing...

Ok Lisa

Do you know if the fabrics receive any treatment? or are kept under certain humidity and temperature conditions?

Very well put Robert!

Those are also my thoughts on the subject.

I do believe many more things are in the archives, but who knows if they will ever be found, or made public.

I agree with you Katharine, I would be curious, but at the same, I dont know, its just too morbid...

There are NO known pictures of the bodies.

So, everything you see is an artist's insterpretation.

I loved that picture of Maria.  I had never seen it!!!

She is just so beautiful!!! .... her eyes are simply impressive
