Nah, I don't mind.  It's funny seeing my scans everywhere tho!

There are definitely more of that day around somewhere.  Sarushka has 'em! ;)

I recall it being Chebotareva?  Not sure.  I am not at home, at school, thus no Romanov books to check if it ws in Botkin's.  It could have been in Gleb Botkin's but I honestly take everything in there with a grain of salt.

Reagan, that one's from the Yale Beinecke albums.  It looks like my version of it where I tried to clean it up.

I have that one of Olga b ut I'm on my laptop visiting my mom, no access to my Romanov pictures as they're on my desktop at home.  I should put them all on my laptop since I don't have my desktop at school either.  Anyway!  Sarushka or Laura Mabee might have it since they both I think have my photo collection in its entirety.

That one Sarushka posted is from Gilliard's book. :D

Indeed it was a post card; Olga and Tatiana had postcards sold with their photographs on it for their respective war committees to raise money.

Perhaps Tatiana was more of the, uh, gloom and doom type?  I know Alexandra was more of that in her spirituality, or so it seemed--that everyone who was a Christian must struggle against all the evil in the world.

If any of these have been posted before, my apologies - I don't keep up with this section much.

If anyone has any shots from the book Romanovs Revisited, which I don't have, could you PM me links? :D

My picture folder is 353MB... it'd take forever!  I will go look through them and post some stuff here that I don't think hsa been shared here.  If anyone has requests for larger versions of things (and as Sarah and Laura can tell you, they ARE huge!) feel free to send me an email: lanie at burntmail dot com.  :)

I do have Lanie's collection, and believe me when I tell you there are heaps of photos in there that have never been posted here, or on Livadia.org.  :o

I can never keep track!!!  I was thinking of just uploading everything into some directory online somewhere, but it would probably take FOREVER...

I know Laura and Sarushka have my extensive photo collection... hahaha.  So I assume a lot of those we all know about anyway - honestly, a lot of the images that have been posted are indeed not rare at all.  maybe we should have guidelines.

There is a technical medical reason for having her underbite correct. I have been told that when one is old such underbites hamper the use of dentures. If Lanie found her youthful profile unattractive with an underbite then she would be horrified as an elderly woman with a toothless underbite profile.

Congratulations on having the courage to undergo such an operation. You do have quite a nice profile now and I hope you reap the benefits.

Exactly.  I didn't get this done because of cosmetic reasons at all; I had to, or else the surgeon estimated by the time I was 30 my teeth would be run down to nothing.

Thanks for all the comments.  It was totally worth it.

I should probably let you all know I didn't die... ;)

I'm almost one month post op and Tuesday I'm getting unwired, so I can finally start eating, though I cannot go back to work or classes until two weeks after that.  I'll be rubber-banded shut with this splint I've got in my mouth keeping everything in place, but I can remove the rubberbands to eat soft foods.  I'm not allowed to chew until everything is out of my mouth, and my surgeon is estimating perhaps the end of the last full week of October or around Halloween.  I'm so throwing a pizza party...

Surgery was uneventful, even pretty good, except I went into arrythmia in the beginning.  The surgery was supposed to take eight hours.  Indeed, my dad asked the nurses every 5 minutes when I'd be out, and when they said, "Three more hours," he groaned, and then a half hour later my surgeon came out to tell everyone he was done, I went through it very well, little blood loss, etc.  Overall it ws about five hours.  The first week was miserable but now I've gotten quite used to drinking stuff (milk + chocolate syrup + Carnation Instant Breakfast makes a nice pick-me-up, and milkshakes are always good), though I am longing to be able to do something I have never been able to do: bite into fruit, pizza, etc!

My underbite was 1/2"... now look! :D  My self-esteem has gone up tremendously, I actually think I'm rather pretty instead of horribly ugly.

I'm still swollen in my jowls, the right side of my face is a bit worse than the left, and the apples of my cheeks are round.  My upper lip is pretty numb, and I had a huge bruise on the left side of my face but it's gone now!

This will amuse you.  Here are OTMA sims I made a long, long time ago.  I don't have them anymore but I could easily re-create and package them to upload for you guys.
