The Final Chapter / Re: New study questions identity of Romanov bones

I would like to accept this idea that

'the bones are real but the tests were bad' position.

I just hope this doesn't end up like President Bush's forged documents. i.e. the documents were forged but what they say is true idea.

If the documents were forged   then whatever they were saying is totally of no consequence/ made up/ hearsay.

Similarly if the tests on the bones were untrue then how on earth are they still belonging to the Romanov's?

I don't seems to me Annie_mc has a point. I just can't fathom the justification of allowing the descendants of Kirill any consideration at all.

OK so Kirill wasn't the 'first' to betray Nicholas. Nevertheless his betrayal was the cause for the Emperial guard to withdraw from the palace leaving the family there naked for attack. He marched around with the Communist flag around town. It is conceivable that if he had been true to Nicholas and stood his ground at the palace maybe the Royal family would have survived.

Consider this...If Nicholas had survived then I believe Kirill and all who betrayed Nicholas would have been executed for treason. His family, therefore would not exist today because Kirill would have been killed by the Tsar's judgement.

Just because 'others' betrayed Nicholas doesn't make Kirill's betrayal any less significant. How people still hold onto Maria and George in any kind of consideration as legitimate pretenders is beyond reason.

I don't wish anyone harm but if all things were correct they should not even be in existence if Kirill had met his rightfull judgement 80 years ago.

Hold on to your horses everyone...true, there seems 'something' wrong with having a claimant on the Knight team yes! But is there any indication that Dr. Knight's research was biased? Are the results phony?, wrong?, or untrue? I don't think we can say that just yet.

His criticism/study of Dr. Gill's work may have been initiated by partison inclinations  nevertheless his conclusions..i.e. 'Fresh Blood added to Dr. Gill's study in order to achieve perfect results' has been upheld by other well known geneticists....I don't remember their names but I'm sure I could find out if necessary.

Penny your reply to Michelle is interesting. Certainlly ears that match  is an indicator.
Do you know when the study was done on her ears and who did it?
Also do you think someone should use modern techniques of facial recognition used today at airports to identify terrorists. Just a thought. If AA's face is going to be an identification marker as you and others believe then why hasn't someone done it. DNA, as Dr. Knight has shown con be manipulated based on the researcher's honesty/interest in the outcome of the results i.e.  Dr. Gill supposedlly adding 'fresh blood' in his team's results and Dr. Knight's hidden pretender. What do you think?

Speaking about 'other people who were killed around that time' I believe I read in one of the books,,maybe from Massie that the bodies could have been from an Industrialist's family which resembled that of the Royal family. Could this be true? Just making discussion. I hope my two cents makes sense.

Can you give a reference for that practice or is it simply what you think might be the case?

From what I've read...admitedly its not much...Empress Marie, being from Denmark was not much of a figure in English circles. Then she was married to Alexander 3rd so I haven't seen much of a 'chuminess' enough to be called 'mother' by Alexandra or her children.

Ofcourse when she married Nicholas she had every right to call Minny mother. But why had she called her 'Aunty Dear' up until then seems wrong to me.

You making a connection to Edward 7th seems a bit of a stretch to me. Maybe I'm making too much of this. Best regards. JonC.
