Because the photos are from Germany, I wonder if there is Ernie's  wife with them on one of their Hesse aunts. Also it looks like n has her wig  so this may be 1913. Thanks again. It is indeed great to see a set

I felt Alix was a bit too hard on the girls when she made comments about their weight. Olga and Tatiana probably inherited their very thin frames from her, but it was evident that Maria and Anastasia  didn't have quite the same genetics. Thin seemed to be the 'beautiful' at that time, but Maria and Anastasia were still quite slim and in Maria's case her fuller frame added to her beauty.
I agree...and the funny part Alix while very thin as a young girl ,  increasingly with age she started to take on her father's big frame

It's interesting to see thinness emerging  as the ideal...because before hand , as we know,  being  buxom was in !

You still haven't addressed the nose problem lol  That will one amazing prosthetic
Of course Leo is a fine actor...that's not in question . Perhaps this movie will be " Rasputin, the prequel  "  lol

I find it hard to see the choirboy.featured di Caprio as Rasputin, but I could see him as Felixstowe Yussupov.

Ann

Here Here .  He's too young and too good looking imo He just played a gorgeous, baby faced   Gatsby

Getting Leo to look anything like Father Gregory  ...wow  ....just the  rubber nose they will have to construct will be a budget buster.
But that maybe what he's going for and he will be unrecognizable. He would have to be to resemble Rasputin in the least.

I vote for age because of the last few photos we have, she was coming into her own in that regard imo

AN seems to have many layers on as well and her body is twisted a bit . Her hair is arranged like Olga's was in 1914  with little curls on the forehead and a band . interesting

In the group photo I think she may be shaking a cluster of little bells...which she is also  holding in her  solo photo.

Of course Olga has the famous white  fox sole from the balcony photos... she is very thin here. Look at that neck

Even if  playing a role, it's  uncharacteristic for at least the small pair to have not one gleam of of smile. They would  usually be too pleased taking a photo so garbed. imo

I have looked at them more closely as well. And the sadness on their faces is so marked..
....now I'm wondering if it's from  captivity after they got well?

AN is far too mature looking for before the war imo and it's not just due to her hair being up

I lighted  contrast on  the group photo . Before I did so, I thought Marie's eyes were down cast.
But they are looking right  into the lens and I've never seen her so sad.  It's disturbing

Thank you ,  Sara Araújo  for that ID!
