Nicholas II / Nicholas having a heart attack?
« on: November 24, 2011, 10:28:31 PM »
According to Fall OTR, Nicholas wrote to Alix on 26 of February, complaining of pain in the chest. Exact text here:
"This morning during service I felt an excruciating pain in the middle of my chest, wh. lasted for a quarter of an hour. I could hardly stand & my forehead was covered with beads of sweat. I cannot understand what it was, as I had no heart beating, but it came & left me at once, when I knelt before the virgin's image!
If it happens once more I will tell it to Fyodorov."

Could it seriously have been a heart attack, or just a bout of pain?

No problem. Anyone else have any thoughts on why it is so early?

Well I'm sorry if I don't pay attention to non-Romanov governments. My bad, the Provisional Gov., and it was only 6, but, it was recalled in 1917, so I guess it's back to Square One.

Wasn't there a daylight savings time weird thing that Lenin put into order? It was like 2 hours ahead, and I remember Alexandra talking about it in her diary. 7 sounds like a much more plausible time :)

Bisous Olga! I hope you're doing great in Heaven, and you are missed! Best wishes on your birthday, you deserve being happy! :-*

I never said he did write a memoir, I said he was said to have written a memoir. I wouldn't be surprised if there was one, and I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't one. It is possible that the sources mentioned above gave a little snippit, but I dont know, because I dont have the book.

Just a note, Sednev was said to have written a memoir of the time in the Ipatiev House before he died in 1929. FOTR 507-8, their source is Platonov, the book is Ternovyi venets Rossi, 514 and also the following;
Sonin, 312
Yakubovskii 281

I see no reason why these can't include something from Tobolsk.

I have access to an edition (English) of Solokov, could I get a page number? (was Colonel Kobylinsky ever examined, besides the Solokov one?)

Just a note, Lili Dehn and Anna Vyrubova were distant cousins through Mikhail Kutuzov ;)

Her Great-aunt, Baroness Nina Pilar, was in love with a certain Grand Duke Nicholas, and the problem is, she wrote no patrynom end! He was in love too, but when he asked Alexander II to marry her, he said no. The lovers were heart broken, etc etc. I'm wonder who this Nicholas was. All I know is he eventually married....

does anybody know her favorite flowers? or color?

Letter from Tatiana Nikolaevna to Zinadia Tolstoy
June 23, 1917
Dearest ZS,
I am terribly ashamed that I still have not thanked you for your letter on the 29th of May and the lovely embroidered bags. I took the blueish one with multicoloured flowers, Olga- blue with yellow roses, Anastasia- pink, and Maria- all yellow. They are very useful and those always remind us of you.

(my addition)
Whenever Anastasia hand tinted photographs, she seemed to put herself in a red or pink colour, Maria was Green, and Olga was blue. Since maria's outfit was an extremely light colour, I'm guessing it was whatever her favorite colour was. I've always assumed purple or violet was Tatiana's favorite colour, just like her mother, but maybe a bit different.

Not really a movie, but the old soap Dark Shadows just makes me laugh everytime. Also, the second and third Matrix movies really let me down. I mean, the fight scene on top of the semi trucks was pretty cool, but it went down the drain after that. My mother adores movies, so let me go see what I can find in there. ;D
