That's so sad.  Well done.

So I'm guessing we'd say it like "nepper" or "nipper"?

Is it just me, or can all these Alexandra's get confusing!    Alexandra Alexandrovna  ::)

I think Elisabeth or Xenia (I'm guessing it's pronounced Zenia) would be good choices.

That's probably true.    All the hatred against him and his family wouldn't be there, since he'd no longer have any political power.

Well, it certainly could decribe me, I'm moving in a few weeks to a new home.  Of course, the dream I had happened a few years ago.  I wonder if OTMA was trying to tell me something.

I agree that Nicky was basically in a no-win situation.  He really didn't want to be Tsar, the job was foisted on him when he wasn't ready for it.  What could the poor guy do?  He felt he had an obligation to his country to assume the throne when his Dad died.

I, and many others, think that if he had abdicated in 1905, he (and the rest of his family) might have lived to see a ripe old age.  Of course, this is hindsight here, but I think that is what would have happened.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how Dnieper is pronounced?  Is the D silent?

Yeah, i guess the only way it could be done would be to scoop them out of time, like in the story I'm working on.

Speaking of which, time for another chapter :)

Sure took them long enough to do it, the house was not demolished until 1977.

And I think by then FS believed her own con.

Yeah, I guess that after more than fifty years, FS could have come to believe she was Anastasia.  She might have so convinced her self that she could have passed a lie detector test.

I'm not really that familiar impersonators but did any of them other than Anna Anderson get support from European aristocracy? Or were the rest just dismissed as idiots?

I'm not 100% sure, but it seemed the rest of them eventually vanished into obscurity.  Of course, they didn't have a decades long court case, like AA did (which she ultimately lost).
