Art nouveau style?

I think it comes from new digitalized album of Olga Nicholaievna cca. 1908/9. Not sure, though.

The photo is from Olga's digitalized album. I zoomed in and cropped it. I have to say it's my favorite photo of Ella with OTMA

Sorry to be a bother but can anyone direct me to this digitalized album or PM me with more information about it?

thanks

She's great, very talented :)

The colour mauve?

Me too! I really hope that your book gets published TorchwoodOTMA/ ECSBanks. I would definitely buy a copy

The girls and the doctor seems to be wearing clothes from 1850's 60's years and not from 1918...What do you think of it

I thought that was a bit strange too. Alexandra's also looks like she's wearing a dress from the 1890's?  Maybe it's just the way the artist perceived the moment? Or mabey he just put less effort onto the fashion side of the painting?

I do like learning languages and it is always useful, and you can show off a bit too, e.g. ordering food in French.
But sometimes it can be stressful and boring.

The Diary of Anne Frank?

How about Maria?  Probably only two ways to pronounce that.

Two? Is it not just Marr-e-ya ?

I always heard that that drawing was just an artists rendering of what it might have looked like. It's supposed to be Alexandra, Nicholas, and Maria arriving in Ekaterinburg but Maria looks more like a version of herself from an earlier time. Notice her hair is long.

The artist maybe didn't know Maria's hair was short then (",)

Mabey the artist decided not to pay much attention to Maria, after all she was just a daughter and another Romanov (in their eyes). They probably wanted to ephaisis Nicholas and Alexandra and their position.

This picture of George V was taken in 1892 (at that time he was the Duke of York).

Ah you're right Ally I never thought of that. I can only think of one scene where they are in a conversation with each other, but even then Alexi is with them, in the Alexander palace

I thought that the film also captured the relationship between Olga and Nicholas well also. Wether it was the scene in the bedroom at AP,  the piano at Tobolsk, or the similar poses in the murder scene - they all capture the father-daughter love well.

In which site have you seen it labeled as "mauve room"?...perhaps we can understand from the site if it is reliable or not...

It was a while ago but I remember that it was one of those " My Romanov fan photo album" websites - not very reliable then. I think the location way have just been a guess.

Alexandra Feodorovna / Re: Alexandra and Rasputin

Thanks for the translation and explaination Tina and nena. The picutre is very vulgar isn't it? I've also noticed the artist wasn't very good - the only way you can tell it is Alexandra is by the crown, which people seemed to think Alexandra always wore - it must have been glued to her head!
