For whom could she mourning in 1913?

I don't think she's wearing mourning. The fabric and style don't look right for that. I think it's more likely just a dark dress.

Oh I see, a mourning dress would have been more thick, isn't it?

I think the ones of Olga in the dark dress and hat were taken in an upstairs window at the Alexander Palace. Somewhere I have an exterior photo that shows the bars on the children's windows....

Thanks, Sarushka for the localisation. I thought it was Peterhof. For whom could she mourning in 1913?

From what I can make of the captions they were taken in Yaroslavl while visiting a monastery in 1913 . Here is the page where I found them http://montolga.ru/photogallery/old_photos/arhiv_monastery/

It is the 21 of May 1913, they visited the monastery of Tolga (near Yaroslav) during their trip on the Volga river.
Here is the link of the official site of this monastery, where are those pictures from: http://montolga.ru/

As for the first picture on this page, I would label it as Tatiana in the South, in 1916, during their official war trip. Not sure though. Any idea about the officer's identity?

I think that may be Tatiana and Maria. Always hard to be certain between O&M at this age.

I would agree with "vk". If it is indeed that may day, Maria wore a white bonnet, and Olga a dark one. Then we see here the earpearl ON wore. What do you think?

Really, this picture is a wonderful find!!
For memory, some other pictures of this little house, with the bird in the foutain where they played then. They are not rare, it is only to situate the previous new picture in his context.

I really love it too! In my opinion, it is that trip on the 26 of May 2014, in the Crimea. We have so many wonderful pictures of this day, and some in the same little house.

No idea about her maiden name, but here in french is an interesting article about the Russian diaspora in Gagny (France), the place where she died: http://blog.gagny-abbesses.info/public/Russes/Presence_Russes_Chelles-Gagny.pdf

Oh yes! Very happy! Something like seeing your friend from time to time. Or having news of old relatives. A very exciting feeling!

Father Nikolai, did you recently have a look at Spiridovitch book? I have not the tome for 1913 (the 2nd), but Spiridovitch gives always so much details, perhaps is there anything about the harpist?
