The Imperial Family / Re: what happened to OTMA's clothes?
« on: July 24, 2008, 03:57:46 PM »
But, did all the clothes left at the Alexander palace survive?. Correct me if I am wrong, but I remember reading that during the German Invasion of WWII, the Empress clothing was used as part of the "packaging" material  when the palace's treasures were being evacuated, so, furs and undergarments  were used as lining to protect whatever was being packed. This somehow gave me the idea that the family's clothing was considered "disposable"..

Their World and Culture / Re: Moving House?

Good question, As far as I know there were an inventory of "common" items in every palace. I remember seeing a picture of a cross that belonged to Empress Alexandra from the inventory at Peterhoff, so I guess it would have been as same as when you go on vacation, bringing alone the clothes you wanted to wear, your personal items and in the Empress case, the jewelry she intended to wear during the trip. In the case of the book, I do not know, maybe someone else has more knowledge on this matter.

Other Palaces / Re: Gatchina Palace

I think the "Mezzanine" is the correct word.

I think right behind GD Alexandra Iosifovna y GD Olga Queen of the Hellens, then to the right of the picture is The Empress Maria Feodorovna and The Emperor Alexander III. On the same hand, between GD Alexandra Iosifovna and GD Maria Pavlovna is GD Elena Vladimirovna and I am not sure if the girl in the far left of the picture is GD Xenia Alexandrovna..

Palaces in Moscow / Re: Ilinskoye, estate of GD Sergei Alexandrovitch

I read that Ilinskoye was next to Archangelskoye. I got in Google earth and found archangelskoye but I have not been able to find Ilinskoye.
 Can anyone help?

Here's something to think about!

Actually, there's no need to think about it.  You admitted that you assist students with plagiarism:

I have written academic papers, even done them for other people, and gotten them very good grades.

So, Does this also apply to the times I have helped my kids with their homework or science projects? Or the times I have helped my little sisters do their homework???
If that’s so, then shoot me too….

Or are you inferring that Annie has no right to say anything about the authors of FOTR because she has done the same?????....

Please elaborate...

Arturo Vega-Llausás

The woman who has railed on this forum for several years about Fate of the Romanovs  and its authors, accusing them of inaccuracies and/or deliberate fudging of sources, has just made this astonishing announcement elsewhere on this forum:

I have written academic papers, even done them for other people, and gotten them very good grades.

She has admitted that she forges academic papers for other people to turn in as their own.

I had thought her admission that she had never read the book took the cake.  I had never imagined that a woman who so sanctimoniously prattled on about academic standards was herself a participant in academic fraud . . . and is proud  of it.

I guess the question remains as of ""Does FOTR have inaccuracies and/or deliberate fudging of sources?"... or the comment made by this forum member automatically made the book totally reliable...

Inquirer minds want to know....

The Windsors / Re: Princess Beatrice of York Pt II
« on: June 04, 2008, 04:46:08 PM »
I just have a couple of questions regarding  Princess Beatrice being Cavalli’s muse… The article says he’s enjoys a close relationship with the duchess of York, then how come Fergie keep making mistakes. I guess this shows  that you can enjoy a close relationship with the best designers in the world, but either you have the “fashion sense” or you don’t. On the same hand. The article says Cavalli is going to create a couple of things with her in mind, not for her…What does he mean? He’s  creating a new line for heavy teenagers???...

I do no think so, being the soviet government so anti-monarchist, I do not think they continued paying pensions for former staff members. I remember reading many years ago about one of the Dowager Empress’s Cossacks struggling to get a job and survive in St Petersburg after the revolution, still he always proudly wore his uniform as long as he could.

The Imperial Family / Re: Coronation of the Tsars (Czars)

To be honest, I have always had the impression they were from a film clip, and I have no idea if there are more. I could infer there must be more. After all, it was the Tsar's Coronation..

EE and other interested parties,

Everyone is being too hard on Beatrice and her underaged sister when it is her mother and born Royal father who are to blame for not giving her expert guidance or hiring someone to provide expert guidance in whatever area is needed for the good of the York Princesses.

You are right. In the Princess of Wales' case, it was her Majesty the Queen who asked the Vogue Editor in Chief to give Diana fashion advices and  Diana came out of her cocoon as the beautifull swan we all remember...So, they already know the answer to the problem, as of why they have not done it, it is still a mistery
