pls dont get that wrong, what I meant was she did the worst for the dynasty. it never crossed my mind she didnt do what she could to help people, but when it comes to political matters, being a strong woman and so clever that she was, maybe should have acted in a different way.

greeks dislike all politicians (or even presidents) that have wives that express or act in politics without having the right to do so. same reason most dislike frederiki till now.

if it was all a matter of propaganda against her then she did nothing to change things.

Below is a link to an article in the Greek Newspaper Ekathemerini.
The name means "Daily."
It mentions the on going dramas in Greek Politics, especially surrounding this new blackmail drama that has everyone in raptures.

I wish to point out that the Prime Minister has said that he will do anything to restore respectability to Greek politics,
and that up to 70% of Greeks are unhappy with the direction and course of Greece.

All I  can say is that it is TIME for H.M The King to return to his people and to pull them out of this morass that the last 40 odd years has put them in.!

God save the King!

I know you would dearly like this to happen. Sadly the united hate of the republicans will prevent it regardless of what the Greek people may or may not want. They simply will never allow a referendum on the issue. I think secretly Constantine does not believe he will ever get back. He is a realist. He knows and tries to do what he can do. If Crown Prince Alexander II manages to get back in Serbia then it might be easier for Constantine. I wish the Greeks who are backing Alexander would back Constantine. Sadly the Greek press don't want to give any positive publicity about Constantine.

Dmitri, they changed the constitution in 74 without even telling the people what the were doing.
The question put to the vote back then was either yes or no for a Constituitional Monarchy, nothing was said about Presidents, Parliaments etc etc.
So yes they are powerful and full of malice these republicans and  I know there is jealously and hate there.
The shame is there does not appear to  be a strong pro Monarchist politician, most are to busy eating from the trough as you put it! The GRF has learnt from their ancestors experience to avoid Politics and the Greek Upper classes are avoiding the issue because they are too busy making money.
It is up to the people and the diaspora Greeks to launch a campaign!~

I have just read on H.M's website that His Grace Christodoulos Archbishop of Athens and All Greece has reposed.
Below in Greek is H.M's announcement and condolences offered by the GRF.

My translation,( not exact but you will understand )_

The following letter has been sent to the Holy Synod from the Offices of the King.

Your Grace,

My family and I wish to express our condolences/sorrow as to the falling asleep of the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece

His great soul and incessant energy was cemented within the Greek nation, whilst he was Leader of the Greek Orthodox Church, which he served with virtue, devotion and hope.

May God rest his soul.
