I found this: 608-27 Sovereign Duchess Marie de Bourbon of Montpensier, Châtellerault et de Saint-Fargeau and  Princesse Souveraine des Dombe, Countess de Mortain etc. (France)

Inherited the Duchy when her father, Henri de Bourbon, was killed. Her mother was Henriette Catherine de Joyeuse, duchesse de Joyeuse (1608-47) and Princesse de Joinville (1641-54). She married Gaston of France, who was Duc d'Orléans, Chartres, Valois, d'Alençon, Comte de Blois, de Monthéry et de Limours etc. Died giving birth to her only daughter, Anne-Marie, and lived (1605-27).

The lady was the richest heiress in France at that time. Her only child  -  Anne-Marie de Bourbon, d'Orleans etc. was the ultimate legatee of her mother. As the eldest daughter of 'Monsieur' (the title by which the younger brother of the king was known at Court), she was known as 'Mademoiselle'. Anne-Marie d'Orleans nearly married the Holy Roman Emperor, the King of Portugal and  -  amazingly  -  her cousin the future Charles II of England. Louis XIV also offered her his own brother's hand in marriage in 1671. Anne- Marie, who suspected that Pilippe d'Orleans had murdered his first wife, refused the honour. She fell in love with the Comte de Lauzun and, it iis believed, secretly married him.

SALVE!

it seems quite impossible to find a text about Marie. Few words in the Memories of her daughter La Grande Mademoiselle (but she did not knew her mother, so she said that she heard from her family - few things ...that Mary was brave and had a noble mind..) .

and not a single portraict of Marie on the web. (3 - 4 paintings are now in Versailles but not reproduced). There were a painting of the famous painter Pourbus... (who painted Henri IV, Marie de Medicis, etc... where is it ....?

Anyway I found her father and her mother :

her father : Henri de Bourbon , duc de Montpensier (1573-1608)
(the painter is Louis-Edouard Rioult (1790-1855), so the painting is an artefact, probably comissioned by the King Charles X of France from SOME ENGRAVING OF THE XVIth century (?):

her mother : Henriette-Catherine de Joyeuse , duchesse de Montpensier, then de Guise (1585-1656).
It is an anonimous painting, painted aproximatively in 1612:

the fruit in her hands (the grenade) indicates she is a widow (and had done a second mariage - in 1611- ).

and naturally we have so many paintings of her daughter La Grande Mademoiselle - on this one she was 18 or 19... but mainly she looks like her grandmother Catherine de Médicis on the paternal line:

She must have looked a lot like her Mother! These last two images have the same profile and nose to me as her Mother.

a few points..

she was never known as ''Marie de Bourbon-Montpensier'', it was just Marie de Bourbon - Montpensier has probably just been added over time like the so called Bourbon-Condé/Conti lines who were all born as Bourbon and died as such ha

also her only child, was Anne Marie Louise d'Orléans, none of this Bourbon-d'Orléans business haa

and whoever said it, la Grande Mademoiselle does have her mothers nose =]

Wikipedia has a picture of Marie on her article..
