I appreciate your pictures so much Laura!

They are terribly sad.  Which side of the house did Olga live on, right or left?

Next time I predict you guys will get inside!

I've never seen one of them together in court dress, other than pictures from the Duma. But none actually posed. I would love to see one if one does exist though!

While we're on the topic of court photos, is there a photo that exists of Xenia wearing the gorgeous blue court gown that is on display at I think Pavlovsk--there is a picture of the dress on AP somewhere, I believe. But I've never actually seen it on Ksenia.

Their court gowns and jewelry were really beautiful, when they were all together in a group like that.

There is one from the 1910 session--I believe it is on the thread about Ksenia that I started ages ago. It's such a lovely photo, and really is one of my favourites!

I enjoy reading about Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna, but unfortunately as yet have been unable to access the book by Ian Vorres.  In particular I was enquiring if anyone knew the date that the Grand Duchess met with Queen Elizabeth during her Royal Tour of Canada in 1959.  I know the tour was between 18 June and 11 August 1959, but I have been unable to track down an exact itinerary.  Does anyone know the date she was invited aboard the Britannia and meet with the Queen?  I believe one of her sons attended with her?.  Also, what were her feelings towards the British Monarchy?  Any information would be appreciated.

May I also take this opportunity to say how much I enjoy visiting this board, normally as a lurker, and soaking up the astounding amount of information in one place! Shocked

Last Grand Duchess doesn't specify the date of the luncheon aboard Britannia, either I'm afraid. All Vorres says is "August of 1959".

Shtemberg Viktor Karlovich (1863 - after 1917). He was a well-known painter in the high society and painted, for example, portraits of the Yusupovs and the Sheremetevs.
