I think maybe a book about the Hesse Family might be your best bet. I've never read Hessian Tapestry, because it is expensive and hard to find, but it might have information. I read this book like eight years ago that focuses on the Hesse family, even though it is alled the Mountbattens by Richard Hough- can't remember if that talks much about her childhood though. There isn't any really good biography of her mother, Alice, Grand Duchess of Hesse that I know of.

I am looking forward reading it. Thanks, Annie.

Like stacey simmons I found it very difficult to find a biography of Alix that dealt with her childhood. The one I got information about that subject and her
reaction about her mother's early death was Greg King's "The Last Empress".
