the best way to write is for yourself rather than an audience

Tremendous truth in that . And the funny part is that's when you have the most to offer an audience!
Got your book on Amazon prepay and looking forward to it !

If you happen to be a librarian, bookseller, book-blogger or reviewer, register for Simon & Schuster's Galley Grab program for a chance to download an e-version of The Lost Crown *before* the official release date of June 14!

Click here for coherent instructions and a link to register.

Hey Sarah, adding my congrats here on the new book! Just registered to get an e-galley (which will take several days). Looking forward to reading it!

Congrats! We get many new books through our book lease here at the library. I'm in charge of Juvenile and Young Adult purchases. Unlike so many of our royal books, THIS one (finally, after so many I wasn't able to get) made the lease list! I was so excited and had to go brag how I knew the author to my director.  :) ;)

Two questions (one serious one not so serious): 1. Will it be availabe in places besides amazon like I have a barnes and nobles bookstore not close, close like right in town but close so will it be in a place like that?  ??? 2. Is it June 14 yet?  ;D

Thanks for the congrats, all.

I sure hope so. AFAIK, there's been no discussion yet.

Barnes & Noble is definitely carrying it online, but you'll have to check with your local store to see if they have plans to stock it. I'm sure they'll special order a copy for you regardless of whether the store is going to carry it.

It's possible the book *might* be available in some stores before June 14. I'm not J.K. Rowling, so the release date isn't rigid. It's more of an on-or-before-June-14 situation.

For example, my first book had an official release date of July 10, but copies started turning up at the very end of June. My complimentary carton of books had arrived at the end of May. I have no idea if that timing is typical. All I can tell you at this point is that the author generally gets her copies first, and I haven't seen one yet.

I am the "audiobook queen" at my library, which means I order most of the audiobooks, and we do have Miss Spitfire, so I think eventually this one will come through too, although it does take a little while after the release of the regular one, and from what I understand it's a completely different copyright, etc... Maybe it can be read by the author ;)  Is this one considered YA fiction too?

Hey Sarah,
If The Lost Crown does come out on June 14th, it will be on Maria's birthday (Julian Calendar). That's kind of neat, don't you think?

Not this author!

It is, but for a slightly older audience than Miss Spitfire, which was marketed at the 9-12 year old bracket. I think they're labeling The Lost Crown as 7th grade and up.

Ok, this means we get to order it instead of the chilldren's department!  :)
