Do you remember at all what year it was roughly taken, cebi26?! Smiley

Imagine my surprise when seeing this at Balmoral castle today-a photo of Nicholas, Alexandra and various other relatives from their 1896 visit! My question is, does anyone have it electronically/saved?

Thanks for that, new to me. I've seen a few moments of film where A and N are following Queen V in her cart . Reminds me of Alix in her cart among family years later!

Are you sure Pchelin is the right spelling? the only artist V(alerij) Pchelin i found on russian sites was born in the 60's so it can't be him Sad
If you could know more about the artist i'll give a look for you in russian in the afternoon, when i come from work Smiley

Thanks Sunny, I'll check on the spelling. I found out this painting hung at the Ipatiev House when it was a museum! ...The interesting thing is Marie is shown with very  long hair...actually looks 1914ish...so I don't think one has to depict her in this manner during this time because she's this way in the painting . Thanks again!

I know I have seen a painting like that, if not that very one, in color before. Besides, a painting in black and white would be a little odd. I am sure we shall track it down someday, hopefully soon!
