This isn't a great quality image, but it looks for all the world as if his hair's been recently buzzed -- no widow's peak, IMO:

Also, this was taken in the summer of 1917:

That bottom pick was actually the one I was looking at too. Well now I know I'm not the only one who thinks it looks like he doesn't have a widow's peak.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be contesting but in the bottom photo I do see a widow's peak. The top photo and others on this page are just too fuzzy to make out. JonC.

For me, this is not a widow's peak but a long strand of hair. I have never seen pictures of Alexei having a widow's peak.

If someone can direct me to a thread of Joy  and  Alexei Nicholaievich photos and/or just Joy photos, I'd be most grateful. Thanks

There aren't many photos in this thread but that's the only link I could find.

Does anyone have the picture of Alexei driving Nicholas around with his little Mercedes? I'd be most grateful! Thanks!

I remember only one taken in 1913 by Pierre Gilliard:

(I believe I've seen the fuller version)

But I don't know if a man is Nicholas. Most likely not.

I'd say either 1909 or 1910.

Then the Springer Spaniel in the photo isn't Joy, since I've been told that he wasn't given to Alexei until or about 1913.

Anyone have any information on this particular dog which is seen in the photo?

Thanks.

No information from here but I'm speculating that the pic was taken at Livadia.
