My! I've always believed that "Nena" was a girl, since in Spanish, we calls a little girl "nena"...LOL. Sorry, Nena.

Going back to our issue, I've never noticed that the dog was on the sled too! Good catch...I think that the girl who carries the sled could be Anastasia, but I'm not totally sure.

The nose works for neither Tatiana  or Olga really and seems odd. But I think she's too thin for Anastasia. Actually her jaw reminds me of Olga, more than Tatiana. Whoever she is, she's super nice to haul her brother AND Joy about! lol!

This is an extract from Nicholas' II diary; I can clearly see the date of September 20th (Is it written there?), could these photos have been taken during his bleeding (from navel), just 'six weeks after his birth'? :

In English :

A great and unforgettable day for us, during which we were clearly visited by the grace of God. At 1.15 in the afternoon Alix gave birth to a son, whom in prayer we have named Alexei. Everything happened remarkably quickly - at least for me. In the morning I went to visit Mama as usual, after which I went to find Alix for lunch. She was already upstairs, and half an hour afterwards the happy event occurred.
There are no words to thank God enough for sending us this comfort in a time of sore trials!
Dear Alix felt very well. Mama arrived at 2 o'clock and sat with me for a long time before her first meeting with her new grandson. At five o'clock I took the children to a Te Deum, with all the family present. Wrote a mass of telegrams. Misha came from the camp; he said he was now "in retirement." Dined in the bedroom.

Some lines match with the picture, and some don't. Is it because a left page is missing?

Re: Reply #254 and "nena":  I realize that this is an older thread and that you probably have already received the correct answer to your question about the photo of the Heir and the cadets, M. and A.  IMO, the top circular photo is "borrowed" from the original well-known photo taken on a vessel in the Dnieper, 1916. There are, of course, a series of photos from this time and location.   Regards,  AP.

Does anyone have a picture of Alexei were he's sitting on what looks like the deck of a ship, with a couple of kittens? I saw it in a video with a bunch of other pictures, but the quality was kinda grainy.

I don't know if this question has been asked before but did Alexei have a widow's beak hairline on his forehead? JonC.

I just wanted to make sure I was understanding what you were asking a 100% before I answered and then you end up with the wrong one. I don't think Alexei had a widow's peak. When his hair was on the longish side and went over his forehead if he had one you couldn't tell, and I just looked at a picture of him where he had his head shaved while he was in captivity I believe and he didn't have one as best as I could tell. Hope this helps.

He has his usual bangs there , so it would be hard to tell. I have seen a photo of him where it looks like his hair was just washed and it was combed away from his forehead and I didn't see a widow's peak there .

One of the pics I was looking at to see if I could tell was the one where he's in what looks like a lake and his head is shaved. Do you know which one I'm talking about? 'Cause I was looking at it and it didn't really look like Alexei had a widow's peak, but I don't know.

Thanks for looking. I hope someone finds a clear photo of his forehead with his hair combed back. JonC.
