Maria photos III

GDI) What year are we thinking with this photo, or did it say somewhere? I'm guessing 1912-ish?

It's from the 1910 session.

I recently ran into on the web a new to me pose from that series. The well known pose is first and then
the one that was new to me....taken a moment before or after the other.Her head has moved...

lol, thanks! I'm apparently awful at identifying Maria's look, and maybe because she had the most consistent look through her life of the four girls...in my opinion at least. Seems I'm always a couple of years in the wrong direction (older or younger) with my Maria guesses...

Mostly Russian blogs about the family =) Sometimes there's something unusal among the known photos.

I think that it is new, Alix's face is different, but I may be wrong.

I had posted this picture awhile ago, and we lamented its poor quality, but I recently found a much better version!

Any late photo of Marie is especially prized as it seems she did alot of photo taking  at that time and not as much posing! Here she is in a new to me photo  wearing the  hat with the two dark flowers. She's visiting with a wounded solder who sadly has lost a foot...but who seems to be forgetting that  while in her presence. She had that effect.  I know it's Marie ( though her resemblance to Olga here is marked  ) because she's  more substantial than Olga , but also because of her biceps ( upper arms) Marie had real muscles there  that made her " as strong as any man "  Sorry the quality is not the best.

Yes I used a nice word for it ...Marie was more " substantial" than Olga. But you know, it was all muscle! lol! I love seeing such photos because they  confirm and yet expand our sense of them visually. I feel even the known photos shift a bit when I see a new one and that's exciting
