HM The Queen attended the Ballet Gala by the National Ballet on occasion of the 80th birthday of
dutch choreographer Hans van Maanen at the Muziektheater,Amsterdam last night.

HM The Queen today,closing the seawall at the Maasvlakte 2 near Rotterdam.The Netherlands won land from the sea,again
and the Port of Rotterdam area is 20% larger now,plus miles of beaches 3,5 kilometers out in the North Sea.

Dutch designer Mrs. Theresia Vreugdenhil passed away aged 82.For over 40 years she was Princess-,and later HM Queen Beatrix's
favorite designer.Ao,she designed the Coronation robes of Queen Beatrix.Mrs Vreugdenhil retired in 2007.

HM attended the annual concert by the European Youth Orchestra at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam
on tuesday evening.HM has injured her lip during a accident at home.

The postponed State Visit by HE President Giorgio Napolitano of Italy will now take place from tuesday october 23rd till thursday october 25th.

By invitattion of HM The Queen HE President Ivan Gasparovic of Slowakia will pay a State Visit from tuesday november 20th till thursday november 22nd.

HM The Queen re-opened the Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art,Amsterdam yesterday after it was closed for 8 years due to renovation and
a wing was added.

TRH Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien were in attendance,the Prince is a Member of the Advisory Board of the Museum.

Later in the day she opened the exhibition "Point de Vue" on occasion of the 200th anniversary
of the Art Academie at 's-Hertogenbosch / Bois le Duc.

Formally known as the Academie Imperial et Royal de Peinture,Sculpture et Architecture since
the days of the Napoleonic era,the exhibition gives a great view into the work of  students and
teachers over the past 200 years.Fascinating stuff!!
