More from Curacao. In the evening there was a huge party at Brion Square,Willemstad where HM spontaniously speech and ended in the local language;papiamento:" Masha Danki mu dushi Korsou" ...Thank you very much my beloved Curacao. It had the crowds roaring.
HM has visited Curacao both officially and privately since the late 1950's,so she knows what she's greatfull for.

Since yesterday, november 4th,Her Majesty is the oldest Reigning Monarch in the history of The Netherlands.
HM was 73 years and 277 days, the age at which her great-grandfather King Willem III died on november 20th 1890.
Queen Beatrix will turn 74 on january 31st.

It is not the longest Reign, that honour goes to HM Queen Wilhelmina,Willem III daughter and grandmother of our
present Queen Beatrix as she became Queen at her fathers death in 1890,aged 10,untill She Abdicated in september 1948.

HM,presently on a tour of the Caribean part of The Kingdom, doesn't think it's an anniversary worthwhile. To Her it is business
as usual and great stamina,as usual. No signs of slowing down there, contrary, the packed program of the present tour is due to
Her as HM wished to squeeze in as much as possible and to meet as much people as possible. She did, does.

THe Royal Caribbean tour was concluded on Saba, the smallest of the Windward islands on saturday.

Saba saturday:

An emotional farewell for HM and TRH on Saba:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMpv3RTrERs&feature=player_embedded

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=9T82ONAollI

Saba has the worlds smallest airport & runway at just short of 400 meters, hence the prop... Grin
The airport is located in The Bottom..unusual,one doesn't hear that too often isn't it...

Honestly,it is called that. But it also is the most beautifull part of The Netherlands, almost
unspoiled....

HM Queen Beatrix opened the exhibition on "Sketches of Beauty" at the St.Jan's Church (1552),Gouda yesterday.
They are the original drawings in the real size ( 5 by 22 meters) of the 72 stained glass windows at the medieval
church, designed and made around the 1560's by Dirck Crabeth and are among the most beautifull in the country.
