Palace of the Yusupovs in Moscow

When I visited the Moscow House (this back in 1992) there was apparently a lot of discussion as to its future-as whatever particular organization that occupied it at the time was in the process of moving out; on my other trips to Russia I never made it back to look at the house, but luckily in 1992 a few dollars got me in for a private tour that I recorded on video.  I have to say that the place is amazing-very atmospheric-I remember shuttered windows and darkened rooms, walls painted with medieval designs, 17th Century leather furniture crowded into corridors-and some of the most intricate porcelain stoves I've ever seen in Russia.  I'd love to go back one day when I have time and really prowl through the place!

Sounds like a great place to explore...but most of the historic palaces and homes would be amazing to be able to spend time in just snooping!  Did you see the tunnel that supposedly had the skeletons in it?  

I wondered if anyone has a list of all the Youssoupov Palaces in St Petersburg.  I know of the ones on Moika and  Liteyny Prospect, but I recently saw a map that showed the House of Actors on Nevsky Prospect (86, I believe) as a Youssoupov Palace.  Does anyone have a list of them all.  Even better, does anyone have pictures of them?

At the time of the revolution the Yusupovs had seven residences in Petersburg.

The most famous, the palace on Moika 94 was by far the largest in size, but it wasn´t the most expensive though.

The most expensive was the House in Nevsky 84-86 (I think because of its location), even when it was half the size of the Moika palace.

They had as well mansions on Liteiny 42, Baseinaya 5/5, Semenovsky 84-86, Pochtamskaya 92, and Litovsky 1/36.

They have a wonderful estate named Koreiz in Crimea.
The Mermaide scultpture of this state  became one of fthe symbols of Crimea .
After the revolution , it becames the GPU's sanatorium.

Very interesting. Princess Paley still owned the Paris house after the revoltuion, am I right? She either lived there or it helped to sustain her and her daughters after the revoltuion.

Was Felix's inherited palace in Moscow the only Yussupov palace in that city or did his parents have homes there as well?  

I thought now that I have reached as far as I can go with the Romanovs on the Marlborough for the time being, I would like to compile a list of the residences owned by the members of the Imperial Family at the time of the revolution, including the Yussupovs.

The parents owned the great house that had belonged to Ivan the Terrible and is much discussed in his memoirs.They lived however in a modern wing which had been added in the 1890's.

The rooms look very cavernous (closest word I could think of to describe the high ceilings with very few windows-I'm not very architectual) in those pictures.

What would be the schedule of Felix and his parents aka what house in what city at what time of the year. I am going to read over Felix's memoirs after I'm done posting this so forgive me if the answer can be found in there.
