hi to everyone!
i live in moscow but, unfortunately, I'd seen the palace only once, passing it by by car. but a couple of days ago my friends and I decided to look at it one more time an maybe to take a photo of the building. we went there at about 11p.m. we got to the palace and were strolling along the fence. then we saw a plate on it which was telling about the building itself. I was surprised to know that some excursions are held there (at daytime of course). then a watchman appeared and asked us whar we were doing. we were frightened by his words and told him that we were just watching the timetable pf the visits. and then he asked us if we wanted an excursion right then. we were soo excited and went through the gates. theen another man came up and led us into the palace. the normal excursion with 1,30h guide costs 250 rub( about 6,3 euros) each and we payed the same sum. but! the watchman showed us all the rooms, let us sit on the sofas and chairs (the oroginal ones) and let us take photos though it costs extra 100 rubs. of course, his oratorical skills were not high at all, but he managed to tell us some facts about the palace's life.
we were extremely content to visit such a museum at 11pm absolutely by ourselves and to do there almost everything we wanted!

In Ladytaksa's photo you see Princess Tatiana Alexandrovna Yusupova, however I'm not sure who the woman in the court dress is. Is it Tatiana in court dress? Or possibly one of her daughter's Zenaida or Tatiana in court dress?

I wondered if anyone has a list of all the Youssoupov Palaces in St Petersburg.  I know of the ones on Moika and  Liteyny Prospect, but I recently saw a map that showed the House of Actors on Nevsky Prospect (86, I believe) as a Youssoupov Palace.  Does anyone have a list of them all.  Even better, does anyone have pictures of them?

At the time of the revolution the Yusupovs had seven residences in Petersburg.

The most famous, the palace on Moika 94 was by far the largest in size, but it wasn´t the most expensive though.

The most expensive was the House in Nevsky 84-86 (I think because of its location), even when it was half the size of the Moika palace.

They had as well mansions on Liteiny 42, Baseinaya 5/5, Semenovsky 84-86, Pochtamskaya 92, and Litovsky 1/36.

Can someone interpret these streets - is Litovsky near the Litovsky (Lithuanian) Castle, i.e. near Xenia's Palace (or is it Ligovsky Prospekt?).

As far as I know, Pochtamtskaya only runs up to 20 (which is across the canal from the Moika Palace)

Also, does anyone know any addresses in St Petersburg for the family of Felix senior or his two brothers, Pavel (tennis champion) and Nikolai - members of the Sumarokov-Elston family?? I would be particularly interested in them!

One can see how little the interior changed over the years. The only noticable change being the portrait of Princess Youssoupova on the wall.
