3D Alexandra's Balcony
To start hyping up the release of my 3D Alexander Park on
www.romanovdynasty.com
i've decided to release two drafts of Alexandra's Balcony from june before I finished off the texturing and modelling of the landscape.

Re: 3D Alexandra's Balcony
Good luck! IMO, it certainly appears far superior to any other attempt I've seen here! AP

Re: 3D Alexandra's Balcony
It looks great, but where is the door to get onto the balcony? I've never understood where it was.

I love info on Anna Vyrubova for my research!

Re: 3D Alexandra's Balcony
Covenant, words are difficult to describe the excitement of seeing your incredible work. I am in awe and very thankful. The two drafts - I gasped thinking original. The detail of the balcony is beyond what I had imagined anyone capable to recreate. The iron curled roof edge is amazing - the second draft shows the shadows across just as in the black/white 1900s photos. Many, many thanks.
The balcony door is from the Maple Room as Bob had indicated (probably five years ago now - where has the time gone on the forum - 5 years!). It is the first door when entering from the Palisander which means at the end of the balcony just next to the pipe. The photo in Anna Vyrubova's Yale albums of the AP shows the balcony area very clearly and yet there is no door. I have been curious of when this photo was taken - her house is from 1934 and this may also have been from after the revolution. She could have during the 20s-30s interspersed some loose photos into her albums just as the Helsinki archives have many loose photos of hers that she had and also taken out of the albums where missing gaps appear. The Yale photo could have been given to her later but showing this earlier version of it being built yet again the appearance of the photo has an abandoned quality.

Amazing work, Covenant! I can't wait to see the finished product. Any estimate of when the release will be?
