Prize was deserved! It's great!
There is a clock that never strikes...
There is a cathedral that goes down and a lake that goes up...
There is a little carriage abandoned in the copse...
There is a troupe of little actors in costume...
And when you are hungry or thirsty, there is someone who drives you away.

Maria this poem is for you
A merry girl once did live upon this earth

Eyes Of Blue

           II
In 1899 an angel was born
She loved all those around her
This girls with
Soft curls of brown
And Enchanting eyes of blue

Here is one I wrote for Olga's birthday this past fall...I posted it in the thread for anniversary of her birthday but I'll post it again:

To Olga Nicholaevna:
You were so young,
Just hardly grown,
And yet at twenty-two you'd flown.
No time for a kiss, or lingering in his arms,
For those you loved were too low for your charms.
But time to weep, and know your fate,
You deserved a better end than this.

                                                                                                    ~~
We were nymphs, in a world lost to the people of today.
We blossomed, but now we lay, never to bloom again,
on the face of this earth, gone, but not forgoten
.
About OTMA.

You stood there, bravley, with beating hearts, to meet your destiny. How could you have been there one day, gone the next? Only sheer cruelty could destroy such pure, innocent, beautiful souls.
Another one about OTMA.

This one was inspired by a William Wordsworth poem I forget the title of. It's supposed to be about Olga, but I don't know whose perspective is supposed to be from. perhaps one of her sweethearts, written in the '20s or something.

I saw upon a hill, a maiden fair of face, the sunlight shining upon her golden locks.
I knew only too well  who she was, but nay, I dared not approach, for no mortal being she, but a spirit of the past.
White dress a-floating, I saw her fade, and hurried upon my way, but yet, I will remember, for 'twas an event that I would not wish to forget.
When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything You gave me". --Erma Bombeck

Amazing! Simply amazing! Maybe the Wordsworth poem can be from Dmitri Chahk-Baghov's P.OV especially "I knew only too well  who she was, but nay, I dared not approach, for no mortal being she (...)"?  :)

Thank you!  :) Actually, that poem isn't by Wordsworth, it was inspired by a poem of his. I found it now, it's called "She was a Phantom of Delight".
Yes, that's a good idea for it to be from Dmitri C-B's perspective!  :)

This just now came right off the top of my head... the last sentence i had to find a word to rhyme with "rewind" so here you go!
The Four
Safe behind those palace walls
Protected from the dangers of life when they call
Then one bullet, two bullets then three and four and look five
Not one of the four made it out alive
If only fate could be put on rewind
They'll be forever in my heart I find

Yes it's about OTMA and i said five bullets since i counted the two for Maria... one in the leg and then the head!
  :)

Why thanks! I was just reading the other poems and all of a sudden the first 4 lines just came into my head and i'm like i gotta type this out! I haven't written any kind of poetry since i don't know like last year! Now another one, off the top of my head thanks to the first two lines... i think this is my longest i've ever made yet!  :)

The House Called Special
There was a house they called Special i'm sure
Where eleven occupants once lived, if you count their guards that's more
Fate had it's plan, so the story goes we're told
One question remains forever in bold
Why, why was this the way it would be
Surely none of them could ever see
To the cellar they were moved
By one order they needed to be from the world removed
Two loving parents, four daughters and a son with servants stood together
Not prepared for the fate they would soon weather
But now above they all go in peace
From that house they called Special they've found release
