New director of the Gatchina Palace is very active. I think we see interesting exhibitions and projects in this year.

Tsarskoe Selo

Two pictures, disappeared from the Alexander Palace in 1941, were bought in Germany and came back to Tsarskoe Selo in 2011:

L. Elsholtz. Prussian hussars. 1840. Oil on canvas.

W. Meyerheim. Prussian cuirassiers. 1830-1840th. Oil on canvas.

Does anyone know if there has been any progress to the rebuilding of the 'Lower Datcha' at Peterhof?

No progress. The rebuilding of the Lower Dacha is a victim of the crisis.

Thank you Vladimir. Thats a shame, long term its still good that they now 'intend' to rebuild.

According to the official website the White Tower in the Alexander Park opens the doors for visitors in august 2012!!! It will be Children’s Creative Center with medieval knight’s castle architecture to be re-created inside.

I hadn't known they intended to rebuild the White Tower, but it makes sense. Exciting! Thanks for posting the news.

Does anyone know if the little house on the island has been restored ? The answer probably lies somewhere in one of these threads, so my apologies if it does. The photographs have probably been removed anyway.

Brassov, I'd say no, it hasn't been restored. I haven't seen any photos showing otherwise or heard any news about it. I don't know if there are any plans to do so.
