I think the father wasn't and mother was.
But I think that in any case Ludovika wasn't as religious as her sister Sophie, as well as she wasn't as strict as her sister...

Welcome. Duke Max in Bavaria was not known to be conventional and his daughters were also too.
I think that the only conventional person among the Wittelsbach family was Karl Theodor, the others were quite eccentric...

Returning to the main topic here, Sissi and Franz on a religiuos event

Yet again another great couple of finds, Yelena. Especially like the religious event one! Can I just ask, which one is Sissi in them 1857 one? I think I might have spotted her, but I'm not 100% sure...

Glad you liked them!!! Well, first of all sorry for the size of the painting, I know that is quite small  Cry  Well, she's the lady in the carriage (with the white cap and shawl) at the left  side, and if my eyes aren't lying, the one at her side is FJ (the one in blue-grey)

She was not that beautiful as a girl but blossomed into a beauty.

You're very welcome Jen!!!
Many say that at the time that FJ met Sissi, her eldest sister Nené was the most beautiful of the two sisters, but honestly I just see Nené beautiful in paintings -the same heppens to me when people speaks about the beauty of Empress Eugenie- but not in her photos!! Of course, Sissi wasn't a real beauty at that age, her first photo proves this! But I think that after she got her 20's her beauty blossomed.

I think Nene was quite beautiful, just looking at photos of her. I do agree about Sissi, though. As she grew older, she blossomed into a beauty, like Yelena said. She, infact, I think, as she was in her 20's was one of the most beautiful Empresses, but that is just my opinion.

I think this is a rather sweet painting:

Sissi and her brother, Karl Theodor with their dog, Bummerl.

Nene had a hard facial expression that was not as sweet as Sisi.

I think that Nené´s face wasn't as soft as the faces of any of her sisters, including Mathilde. Personally I don't see her beautiful in her photos, just on her paintings but I'll give her a chance considering that perhaps before her 20's she was more beautiful (well I don't know any photo of her at that time)
Well, back to Sissi...
The best size that I've seen of this
