AceOfSpades:
Hello - I'm more of a lurker here than a regular poster, so here goes my question:
I read the German/Austrian sections on this forum, and there's a couple of posters that never really have much to add - other than "Indeed. I thought she looked like that too ... blah blah blah" Or "Great pic - were they close?" or some other inane drivel. Often, I find myself skimming through page after page of this nonsense. Other posters have commented on this same exact thing too, but it still continues.
My question is - is there a way to "block" these kinds of messages? Is there a privacy preference, or some other kind of setting on this forum that I just haven't been able to locate yet, that would makes posts from a few certain individuals "disappear" or "hide" these posts while I'm reading? I'd much rather spend my time here reading the contributions from people that actually have something meaningful - or even knowledgeable - to add the each of the threads that I read on a regular basis, instead of skipping 6 or 7 pages of purely nonsensical/overly dramatic garbage.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions/help/advice that can be provided!

Nope. You can block specific members from sending you private messages, but there's no way to filter a particular user's posts from the threads you view. You're just going to have to skim and bear it. ;^)

Thank you very much for your speedy reply!
I kinda figured that was going to be the case - it's still better to ask and be certain!
Take care -

it would be great if they were a kind of "block messages" in forums. I participate in boards with that thing and work perfectly

We have been faced with this issue since day 1. We have found a polite word, usually via PM, nicely worded helps. Sometimes you can PM the thread's mod and ask them to have the word for you if you want to remain "anonymous".
I always encourage posters to only post something of genuine contribution, instead of "how true" or "thanks" or something that adds nothing ot the discussion.
