Francesco Cabras, an italian actor.
I saw the film in original (italian - the production was italian) but i did not like it. It's original, of course, i mean it's not told as a normal film, it's confusing, but genial; at first i liked it, but then the historical mistakes became bigger and bigger, and the film itself became boring.
The worst historical mistakes (IMHO)
- Grand duke dmitri is much older than he should be, and has beard&mustache
- He says he's going to marry Olga N in a month (!!!!!) and so his well known relation with Felix should be interrupted (i'm not sure it was so well known).
- In Jusupov's manor there are women (!!)
- Irina is in Saint Petersburg (she really was in the Crimea in December 1916) even if she doesn't appear in the film (and that's correct at least).
- Jurovskij, "the black man", in the film is BLOND, WITH BLUE EYES, TALL AND THIN. I really wonder whether the director ever saw a photo of him??
- The cellar of the execution in Ipatev House has become a car box - even smaller than the real one (!!!!), no windows, a very low ceiling...
- In the cellar, Alexej STANDS UP ON HIS OWN LEGS. That's incredible.
Just not to mention that the actor who's Nicholas doesn't resemble Nicholas a bit, and the same for Alexandra, but this things are minor mistakes.
You could ask why we see the Romanov's murder in a film about Rasputin. Well, i did not understand myself, but i think it's to show that Rasputin's words (If the one who kills me is a member of your family, you and yours won't survive 2 years) were true. +
I don't think it's a film worthing the time it needs, at least if you well know Russian history - it's so little historical and so focused on the Khlisty's orgies.
