It's that time of year again...
« on: July 14, 2010, 09:54:48 PM »
July 17th falls on a Saturday this year. It marks the date 92 years from the day that the last Imperial Family were murdered in Yekaterinburg.

Since there are birthday wish threads, I thought there could be a memorial thread too. Will you light a candle, take a picture? Or simply write something nice? Whatever you do, it will be a way to remember those who were taken too soon.

God bless the Romanovs, and everyone. Have a safe, happy, and reflective 17th of July.

~Remembering Tsar Nicholas II, Empress Alexandra, Tsarevich Alexei, Grand Duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia, and their relatives who perished on or around this day~

Agree; we must remind them too, who also suffered in this bloody day.

Rest in peace, Nicholas, Alexandra, Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia and Alexei. 92 years has passed, but you still live in our hearts. May God bless you and keep you.

Nicholas Alexandrovich, Alexandra Fyodorovna, Alexei Nikolaevich, Olga Nikolaevna, Tatiana Nikolaevna, Maria Nikolaevna, and Anastasia Nikolaevna, rest in peace! Many, many people down here are thinking of you!

Dr. Eugene Botkin, Ivan Kharitonov, Alexei Trupp and Anna Demidova, rest in peace!

There is a clock that never strikes...
There is a cathedral that goes down and a lake that goes up...
There is a little carriage abandoned in the copse...
There is a troupe of little actors in costume...
And when you are hungry or thirsty, there is someone who drives you away.

Dear Abbigail:

I have this icon always near my bed, at the little table in which I put the books I uses to read at night. It's a Saint blessed stamp that an Ortodox friend of mine gave me. It was printed by the Russian Orthodox Church in Argentina (my country), and I prayed before it a long, long time before it, even if I am a Catholic. They died for Christian Faith and I'm Christian too, after all. I admire them very much.

I'm amazed that the Forum wouldn't remember them in a more "official" way, I mean to announce what time of the year we are in in the part it saids " Alexander Palace Time Machine", where they announces its Christmas or Easter...What a sad thing!

God bless you and pray for us sinners: St. Nicholas, St. Alexandra, St. Olga, St. Tatiana, St. Maria, St. Anastasia and St. Alexei.

                          RealAnastasia.

The video is a treat:
I am gobsmacked at the growth of the pilgrimage sites and numbers of pilgrims since I was there 7/17/1997; its now huge--many people many sites and pilgrims dragging the underground xray machine across the Pigs' Meadow--the final burial site. Wow I want to go back but I want to see Alapaevsk, Tobolsk and Perm as well. When I was younger we all thought everything had been destroyed--I am so glad there is so much left. Thanks for the video.
I'm redefining myself at present--any suggestions?
