They made quite a couple. This was the announcement of their marriage. There weren't any photos of the actual ceremony itself since Baby Bee & Ali were suppose to be married in secret. The approval that Maria Cristina and Alfonso XIII did not came forth, Marie Coburg took matters into her own hands (just like the time she did for Ducky & Cyril).

There is a series of Beatrice in what looks like a bridal dress which if often mis-ID'd as her as a bride. It isn't from the wedding. I have that whole series of cards and they were published as postcards, as well as in magazines, well before the wedding. I believe Eric is correct that there aren't any photos--at least out of family hands.

The photo you posted is from Munsey magazine, I think. Those old magazines are a treasure trove of photos.

Yes. You are correct. They were done when Baby Bee was offically "out" in society after her confirmation. I don't think there was a wedding photo. However there was one done after the wedding when the couple along with Marie Coburg, Sandra and Maurice of Battenerg (an admirer of Bee) were photographed with the wedding car. One year later they returned to Coburg for the christening of their eldest child, a group photo survived of this particular event including Infanta Eulalia and Prince Philip of Coburg...

The postcard I have lists Leopold Battenberg in the photo, and I think he was the admirer of Beatrice.

It is Leopold. The photo of the honeymoon departure is somewhere upthread--I posted it sometime back. I had scanned through the thread earlier looking to see if I could find the photo of Beatrice in her not-wedding dress. There is a link to it but the actual photo isn't posted.

Yes. You are right ! It was Leopold. He was attached to her all her life. When Leopold was gravely ill, Bee went to his bedside.

Apologies if this has been discussed already, but I would be interested to know exactly when Baby Bee and her family returned to England and how much contact they had with their British Royal cousins? Did she for example attend the Coronation of her second cousin King George VI in 1937?

Yes I think so. Most certainly Baby Bee & Ali had a grace & favour residence in England provided by the RF. Baby Bee was also responsible in introduce Olga & Wooley to London society. Queen Mary had hoped that the Prince of Wales would choose one of these princesses as his future wife. It was not to be. However it was in one of these parties that Olga met her future husband Prince Paul of Yugoslavia (who became a good friend of the Duchess of York (later Queen Mum)). Baby Bee's grace & favour residence was cancelled after Buckingham Palace was bombed in the War, King George VI believed it was one of Baby Bee's sons who did the bombing even though there was no proof that he did it. Later it was Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent who visited Bee & Ali in Spain. It was interesting since it was Ali who welcomed Marina to England.

How can George VI have thought that Alvaro or Ataulfo de Orleans, neither of whom battled during the Second World War, bombed BP. Ataulfo was in Spain, Alvaro in Italy, the Infante don Alfonso and the Infanta doña Beatriz were in Sanlucar de Barrameda dring most of the conflict.

Alvaro and his middle brother Alonso were aviators during the Spanish Civil War...but during that conflict they never bombed London either.

Wondering...

According to Sarah Bradford "George VI" The king suspected the bomber had "local knowledge" due to the difficulties in bombing a particular building and suspected one of Beatrices sons. No evidence has been found to support the Kings suspicions.

Apparently Beatrices lease of the grace-and-favour Kings Cottage, in Chiswick, was terminated.
