Today, I went with fellow Royal lovers/friends to Van Hoogstraten in the Hague. Not without a reason. Rosvall has send 1200 books to Van Hoogstraten. You can now buy, many books, who are publishd years ago, are out of print and sometimes hard to get.

For example there are books from Gabriele Praschl-Bilcher:  Das Familienalbum von Kaiser Karl und Kaiserin Zita.
Books about the Baden, Wurtemberg and Sachen Royal family. Dozens of books about the French Royal family. The book: Nicola and Milena, King and Queen of the Black Mountains, a book about the brother of Prince Albert, the book Bernadotte und die Romanovs. Books about the Hohenzollerns. Really dozens and dozens of books.

Are you still in search for a book, please e-mail them. Maybe there is book for you, who you have already searched for years.

So email: info@hoogstraten.nl and maybe Van Hoogstraten has that book, for you, what makes your collection complete :)

The Van Hoogstraten Online Bookshop is one of my favourites! I highly recommend it to anybody.

I have bought several books from them and was pleased every time.

My latest purchase was a wonderful photo-book on Crown Princess Cecilie of Germany and Prussia -- a real treasure!!

They are extremely reputable and very nice! :-)

I have Definitely Royal in my bookcart already. : )  Really looking forward to it. Will get Art's new book , Royal Gatherings, when it arrives next month.

Have already treated myself to The Four Graces, The Palace and the Bunker and Dear Ellen and have ordered Hvidore from Marlene. The others aren't as recent in their publication.

Prisoner of Durazzo was very academic--hardly any photos and was a bit of a dry read for a gossip lover such as myself. : )  Still, if you are a serious student of the politics of the time and country, it's a well-regarded read--very positive reviews. I was surprised that the book didn't really seem a bio of William of Wied so much a political study so the title is a bit misleading. I ordered it from interlibrary loan so I can't complain though. It's a very thick book and not as expensive as other scholarly tomes. I prefer my academic works with a healthy dash of personal narrative ala John Rohl's books on the Kaiser myself.
They also serve who only stand and wait--John Milton

I can highly recommend this German book. http://www.hoogstraten.nl/theshop/product_info.php?products_id=645

Actually its a photo/coffee table book about Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria. Although the text is in German, even English readers can buy this book. The book contains mainly pictures and below the pictures, tell us who is in the picture.
