Tim already knows but i'm working on an OTMA "movie" except for those that read "Days" Sam is in it! Only it's not a alternate scenario where you have things from the future like "Days" though! It's a period piece! It's called Nikolaevna and i've got up to the part where they start working in the garden... the hardest part will of course be the end! Though i doubt if ever that i'll post it here though! Such a scene involves her taking of Tatiana during her 1913 Typhoid! A lot of the flashbacks in "Days" i put in from Nikolaevna actually!

I love the title " Nikolaevna" , ( of course I would since it's the title of my last finished painting! lol!  =) But I want to say the  use of flash back is an important tool when writing about OTMAA....I have out lined a children's book that starts in the hospital during the war , but flashes back to earlier days. The thing is this way  you get both the war and earlier times...plus at the end you leave them at the hospital, where one found them...and so you have late , earlier times  and no cellar . One does not have to tell their whole story...in order to tell their story

Another  interesting thing about a thread such as this is writer can help each other out of jams! lol!

I think in all the stories, the end is the hardest, because it's a horrible ending.  Odd coincidence that both my stories, Requiem and Bid Time Return, has NAOTMAA continuing on beyond the events of July 17, 1918.

It's not coincidence. It's a good part of the point imo  ....at least a major source of inspiration =)

RHB, a movie? With real actors and everything? That's what I've just done! Or is it just a script? If it is, you really should consider making it a proper film!!

Ha, ha... no just a script! Working on Days inspired me to do something else too so out came Nikolaevna! Like Sarah said in the Lost Crown thread... I wouldn't even know how! I know nothing about casting, camera angles, etc and my cousin is work in progress yet great actress so... i just don't know!

You wouldn't need to know all that, the studio and the producer handles that stuff.  What would happen is that they (the studio/producers, etc) would pay you for the rights to your script, and your involvement would probably end there.  You'd make money, of course, but you probably would have little to no creative control over the production of the movie.  That is just how Hollywood works, unfortunately.

Okay though i would like to be on set at least and if they don't like it then too bad! Although I must admit i've never actually thought about it being an actual movie or anything! Hmm... who knows! Maybe I'd be the JK Rowlings of the Romanov world so to speak!  :)

Could be a TV movie.  Television producers are kinder to authors, at least that is what I hear.

Well i did write it as 3 parts: Part 1: Four Daughters, Part 2: Growing Up and Part 3 (obviously): Tragic End
Each part has a beginning Narration (spoiler) by Sam! Still I'd want to be there to "supervise"!

A TV mini-series then.

I'm guessing all the supernatural stuff we see in Days would also not be in this (Sam not being a witch).

There's the Lifetime network, or the one Oprah has now.

OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) as for her and lifetime... i wouldn't have a clue where their studios are (actually i think Oprah's in like Chicago) but still I more or less would have no way of getting there anyhow! But hey it's all good!
